Title: A different cutscene idea...
Post by: Ghost on February 12, 2005, 11:25:15 am
Instead of getting the cutscenes to work, why doesn't someone try and make them better? Because when I go back and watch the cutscenes in base FS2, I've noticed that SCP graphics are better in most areas. Do you guys think that a few really good renderers and the cutscene makers from various campaigns could get together, pull the audio and music from the cutscenes, and remake the graphics in them?

not a bad idea at all, but i think it would be a good idea to

A) wait till ALL SCP ships that appear in the cutscenes are finished,

B) wear a flameproof suit *hands you one*

C) be patient!

I think that, if you really wanted to go in that direction, it'd be better to make the removed cutscenes from FS1 (particularly Tombaugh Station)

Possible?  Yes

Likely?  No.  It's a ****load of work, for an old game & old story.  People would far prefer to do new stuff (or at least I would).

That's actually possible, all you need are the RAD video tools, the extraction program, and a little free time.

Until you start talking about doing it using the FS renderer. :p
