Some of you may recall a difficulty I mentioned a while back, regarding some of the game sounds being replaced by loud BUZZZing during heavy combat. It seems that I came across the culprip by accident. I've been playing Derelict (BR Edition) and the mission when you have to escort the Medical Frigate and Triton to a jumpnode and you get attacked by lots of Lokis, the more I played it, the game began to slow down and get realy choppy. It slowed down to the point where the game would literally stop... forcing a cold boot. I decided to switch back to 3.6.5 release build (I have been using Phreak's 01-29) and disable the rlm and smart shield options (since they weren't there), and on a whim, I disabled d3d mipmaping. I tried the game again and suddenly, no slowdowns, and no buzz. Curious, I switched back to PhReAk's build and decided to give this solution a REAL workout by playing Inferno's "Nemesis", which had previously generated the BUZZ without fail... but this time, there was no BUZZZ! It seems that something about the D3D Mipmaping was interfering with the audio for some reason. In any case, its the last time I'll be using that feature.

I remember you mentioning in this old thread...is your sound card sharing IRQs with your vid card or something?

Well, that explains why none of us could figure it out...
