I think it is SG1 the ignites the rebellion of earth that makes Ra decide to leave.
-
When does Part 2 air there? I'd like to.. . err... watch it.... on TV as soon as possible.

But they have to have done it in such a way as to make or alow Ra to take the gate with him.... unless what the alt-future team has to do, is to change the course of the rebellion such that Ra can't take the gate.

*Head explodes*

temporal mechanics ... it's better not to think about it :)
i woulda just shot the guards and popped of with the ship

I was a bit dissapointed that they didn't show Ra's liutenant. The Anubis head guy from the film. His was the coolest helmet of them all!!!
-
But what I'm really happy about, is that they finally used the Jaffa theme again. I think they've haven't used that since Season 3.
I really, really dig that theme
-
well
consider this for a moment ... the future could not have changed because the atlantis team didnt dissapear and the reenforcements allready came through dus SG1 did not change the future so pratically someone will go back and let them know wth happened so they can fix it :)

Also, in this alternate time line, Raa is still alive.

And the Replicators will have presumably come close to defeating the Asgaard or wiped them out already, and also Anubis will be buggering about........so really, if the timeline isn't restored back correctly, Earth is ****ed.
One thing, though;
Ra will definately crop up again in the 2nd part - otherwise why bring back the original movie actor for a mere 2 minute appearance with a mask on?
I wonder if they'll explain the difference between the movie Goa'uld (sort of energy like IIRC) and the tv series snakes.
-
I very much doubt they will interact with him personally. They wanted very much to avoid altering the time line as much as possible. Additionally, with Ra alive, you don't know what will happen to Anubis. As per the snake heads, we are talking about 3000 years without knowledge of what happened proir to that. Additionally there were many Gouold on earth when the exidos occured. Remember in the stargate universe, they had a serious effect of early culture like the old fart chinese guy that was head of the system lords.

Well, Opothis is still about anyways - but they have to show Ras' face at some point, which means someone must talk to him. Could be Apothis or Teal'c, though... and Ra being there or not probably wouldn't make all that much of a difference - in the movie he only lost one ship from his fleet when he died, so Apothis or someone else would have stepped in his place with not all that much of a change.....I think.
