first, upload the picture to some webspace, then grab the URL of the image, and put that between [ img ] and [ /img ], but without the spaces.

You will need some webspace for that, or use imageshack or something.  An0n has some image hosting, too, but he's  banned right now, so you'll have to find the link to his site by searching for his posts.

Well, first off, texturers are a rather rare species in this community, so there isn't much of a chance for now.

Secondly, have you tried putting this model in game with just a testing texture on? It might not work, because of bad geometry. I'll let a modeller comment more on that, though.

Thirdly, the model is rather bland, and it lacks detail. Is it supposed to be a cruiser, corvette, destroyer or perhaps a missile? It just lacks the detail for anything bigger then a missile, especially with the polycount HT&L allows.

Ah. So that's what you've been working on all this time i90r :D That's actually quite an nice looking ship. :)

Finding a texturer in this community is quite hard unless you're working for a project who already has one or someone really likes your ship. Your best bet is to learn how to do it yourself.

That said it's a nice ship so. With a little greebling along those sides you might pursuade someone to fall in love with it :)

What an unusual looking ship...

I really have nothing else to say. That's just... unusual.

it is supposed to be passenger liner, civilaian ships are rare in freespace and I think we need some

Actually, that looks almost exactly like one of the passenger liners from the new Battlestar Galactica. Was that what you were aiming for?

Thought so :) It's a good reproduction, but I would suggest more detail, such as recessed passenger windows, a cockpit, etc. :)

It can be, but it doesn't look like that ship is any more than 2000-4000 polies, so you can afford it, especially since it's about as big as a corvette or so.

That's a wee bit harsh, IMO.  It's perfectly good as a medium poly model; not everything has to be nudge into 5 figures.

That's pretty neat. Add silghoutes (spelling) inside, add dirt and grime (use the burn tool for grime and a scratchy looking brush for scratches and dirt in Photoshop).

I can definately see that as a civilian ship.

Could do with more details though but for a first try that's pretty damn good I'd say.

yup, thats definitely Colonial One from Battlestar Galactica

use this as a guide
http://www.galactica2003.net/colonials/colonialone.shtml

i'll help you out, send me your texture and we'll see whats up
[email protected]

As for the model, make the front just a bit thinner and taller, and there is no little ledge in the middle of the front, make sure everythings in proportion with the model in the show, spare no detail, you can always optimize later

I do like that design, but it could do with a bit more detail along the sides of the main hull - it's just a big tube at the moment. Looks rather promising, though - good stuff

I can't help with textures, though - I need to learn to do it myself tbh...

Ok 512² is too small for a ship of this size.
Try no to place lights on the map, but later on the glowmap.

If you want it to look likein the show, use one or two UV maps for it.

The general detail on the map is too low.
