Title: Question for renderers
Post by: aldo_14 on May 28, 2001, 04:52:00 pm
What are you favoured programs - 3ds Max & Lightwave?  Likeiwse, is it possible to use TrueSpace or 3d Exploration to create a decent render?

I ask as I'm hoping to finish some of my new models soon, and be able to include some ani's for the briefing in the finalised files for them  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) .  Sortof a bonus pack

Yes to TS and 3DX, though I now use something different - they are good alternatives for rendering.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I'll have to learn TS properly then  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Hmm - the otuput for an animation would be AVI, wouldn't it?  Is there a decent freeware program for extracting frames from video formats?

Darkshear wants me to get lw 6.5, so he can teach me to 'use a good modelling proggy'

currently I used 3DS max 3.0

Is darkshear gonna get a class together? I have 6.5  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Shrike, if you ask nice enough, it'll be Snipes' favour #1  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)

Would it be presumptious to guess that your communications filter doesn't want the rest of us plebs to know what that something is?  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Hmm...a class...you know...I know about 12 - 15 people who want to learn...

I might have to put something together for like monday evenings...or sometime...like on IRC, and just sit down and teach you all how to use it...

It would require everyone having Lightwave 6.5 and a copy of Adobe Photoshop....

If there are enough interested people I might do that...

I don't really care if you know ( (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)), but I'm just tired of explaining (thank Thunder for that one  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)).  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
