Title: A question about stealth tactics:)

Hey everyone. I have just started playing FS2 online and I have tryed out the Pegasus. I was looking forward to fighting inside a stealth but as soon as I entered a game I noticed that everyone could lock onto me. Why is this?

bzzt.  Was there an AWACS? (not you steak). I remember playing Stealth v. AWACS and not being able to lock onto pegasii and Ptahs

Firing your weapons and using your afterburners increase you EM signature, meaning sensors can pick you up..
also you can be spotted by enemy fighters..
If you can see it, you can shoot it..
they also might have been using rockeyes, they dont need a lock..
they follow your heat signature...

Nah, i just think the Pegasus has to be Fred "stealth" - You know what i mean  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Your completely stealth unless your in a dogfight mission (*I think*) or near an AWACs.

Engines and weapons do not make it any easier to show up on sensors.

No, really, that's true, just try making a mission in FRED against the AI, you fly a Pegasus and they fly a wing of Maras. Even if you just sit there, having luch, the Maras are going to attack you, so you must make a SEXP on Fred that says that you are stealth, or protect your ship(against AI). Althoug I played a mission where I had to fight a wing of stealth fighters and I couldn't lock on them....
