Title: Hola, amigos!
Post by: Ford Prefect on February 24, 2005, 10:47:36 pm
I just got back to my house a couple hours ago from the Dominican Republic, and I really wish I had shot myself instead of going back to Boston in February; shorter trip and undoubtedly a more pleasant destination.

It was heaven. The pineapple is far better than anything in the supermarket, there is no drinking age, and everything is green. And it really rubs off on people. Everyone is relaxed and laid back down there. It really brings out the degree to which Americans live with poles up their asses.

Anywho, that's where I've been for a week; sitting on a beach, drinking beer, listening to Debussy and admiring the cleavage-- err... clouds.

There are no Polish people up my ass. An official George W. Bush Homeland Security interrogation broomstick? Yes. A Pollock? No.

Good for you, mate. I'll probably be heading down to the beach again tomorrow, but nothing as fancy as the Dominican Republic... Just a simple, mostly bland south brazilian beach, one hour drive from where I live. But most of your description applies to it too.

Strange. It's hot, dry and humid here and the ground is parched as the sun relentlessly bombards it into giving up whatever amount of moisture it has till the point of bushfires.  Yeah, sure, we got beaches. But fricking hell, i'd rather trade a good bunch of rain rather than some hot sand....

What i'd give for it to be wet now.........
