Title: Freespace/Freespace 2 on a Tablet PC
Post by: sfried on March 04, 2005, 07:03:07 pm
Hello. I guess this is the wrong thread to introduce yourself, but anyways...

I have:
Toshiba m200-S810
1.6GH Intel Centrino
512MB of RAM
GeForce FX 5200 Go

I've done the D3DTextureValues regedits and whatnot, and it solved alot of the common nVidia related problems as well. Any advise how to make it look better (like the antialiasing...and how do people make the lighting look better)? Any way to do this without relying on FSO?

Edit: Sorry if I seem to be posting on two forums... I'm a bit hesitant where I should get technical help.

I'd go with FSO; it should be faster anyways, even if you don't use the new gfx features.

Yes, there's nothing like tapping Shivan fighters with a stylus. Touching is indeed good...

:welcome:

Exits are to your right and left, and flamethrowers are under your seat. Be careful, though, as they are sometimes filled with water, so bring your own Napalm or try to club someone with the non-working shotguns in the weapon closet. Also, be careful while wandering the ventilation shafts. If you see a large, five-limbed creature that looks really pissed, it’s probably Carl, give him your lunch and he'll hopefully go away.  If you see a big desert creature its probably Raa, give him a fish and he might leave your head alone.  In the event of an emergency, the n00bs will be the last into the escape pods, if there’s any room left. The Plasma rifles in the forward locker are released only under authorization of an Admin, [V] God, or hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. Oh, and whatever you do, don't mention the word Freespace followed by the number 3.

God that would be good!

For the lighting effects, you need FSO, plus some extra art. FSO is actually more stable, and your system ought to be able to run it.
