This was as far as I got before I got bored. I was gonna rig it for animation but got carried away with the beveling and face insetting.
-
*drool* holy ****. Wow, nice job.
-
Yay chickenwalker!
-
Hey baby, nice legs you've got there!
Stick a suitably huge and hulking top on it... I dare you.
-
Very nice...
-
I double doggy dare you!
-
If you don't finish it, your parents will stop loving you. Now, hurry up!
-
Bloody hell. I take it you don't have a job.... :p
-
That is some crazy S**t...
Good work! Now finish it so we can heap praise on your modeling skills!
-
*impressed whistle*
Now texture it :D
-
is that a crotchgun?
-
looks like a spotlight to me
-
Yeah in the interests of everyone here, I suggest moving the spotlight to one side. There's not a particularly good reason for it to be sitting front and center of the bottom of the chassis.
-

Actually, that's the most efficient position It can ligh up things fore and aft, and left and right to a degree as well.
It'd be a good spot for an aqueous crowd-control weapon as well. Gravity would keep the water pressure high. :p
-
i like the reverse bending knees, very "clan"
and in all actuality if you were to slap some missile launchers outside the legs you would have an "Owens" sort of
-
That is absolutely awsome.
more MORE! :D
Nice work dude!

huh, should have known :p
actually, there will be a chain gun on the mechs nose (a'la Heli. Gunships) so the spot light can't really go anwhere else.
-
For a mech shouldn't it have a larger 'spotlight'...? :p
:nervous:
-
Whats sort of scale are we looking at here? to me it looks a fairly light, but thats just me of course. Excelent work all the same :D
-
Hehe, all this mech stuff made me go back and replay through Mechassault 2: Lonewolf. :D
Looks much like an owens. :)
You should make the full version of the giant boss in the end of that game. :D
-
Owens is 35 tons.If he was shaping it after her, then i would say about 35 tons, unless he was going for a IIC or a MK 2, in which case i would say 40 or 45. But wirth the advent of Strider (uninspired design that it is) i wouldn't make it a 40 tonner.

to be honest I hadn't put that much thought into it.
-
The legs look like the mech'd be ~60 tons, to me.
-
don't put a top on it. just leave it as legs. how cool would it be to have these giant legs just stomping around randomly?it'd be like, cool.

lol. Like a beheaded chicken? ;)
At least put a neck and some guns on it. :p
-
Finish the model and give me a general weight class, and I can cook up legal BattleTech stats for it in about fifteen minutes...
-
Though reverse-joint legs look almost unstable. <<; I'd think a more humanoid design would fare better, but you're talking to someone who prefers Gundam and Dragonar and L-Gaim and the like to Battletech or Mechwarrior.

Neatness, I love that mech design.

MAD-3R FOREVER
-
I'm a Battlemaster kind of guy. circa 3025, but if we want to go 3050, I'll take Natasha Kerenski's Warhammer IIC. By the way, there is an online table top version of btech if anyone is interested. Quite well done actually.
-
Just couldn't resist to post these to pics from some guys I think are quite some good modelers...and they try to do their own BT Movie ^_^

Quite like Macross and Patlabor myself.

Megamek, I think.
It's been awhile since I checked on it, but MechWar 3D is still coming along, too...
-
Yeah it was megamech....mechwar? better worse, same quality just different set up?
-
I'm not totally sure. The old MechWar was the original computerized BattleTech game, and has the best AI of any of the ones I've played. That game is beyond ancient now.
MechWar3D...http://www.battletechmodproductions.com/mechwar3d/
They haven't updated since Christmas, and it would be a real shame if the project was down the tubes, as it looked like it was actually going somewhere.
-
it does look rather promising. i Hope that it is still alive.
