I have FSO 20050103 and the 4 main vp files:
core
models
effects
textures
As well as Kara_Low_Poly_Models.vp
Are Lightspeed's enhanced Warpmap and Retail Nebula patch already included? (And where do I put the Nebula patches?)
Bonus question: Where can I find the better Herc 2 models. Better yet, where can I find all the better models? (Or do I even need them?)

See http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/fsdoc/index.php?pagename=MediaVp
for a list of whats included in the packs.
And
http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/fsdoc/index.php?pagename=SCP%20Media%20Additions
For a list of documented additions.
Most are still in the test phase and havn't been released for use yet.
There are still a couple floating around the forums, try a search for the model your looking for etc.
Have fun. :)

You really shouldn't be using the low_poly_models.vp with mv_models.vp it's really meant to be there for people who didn't have the leviathan model because their computers couldn't handle the high poly models in mv_models.vp.
It won't hurt you any to have that file but it will mean you'll just get the standard leviathan and fenris models instead of the high poly ones.
The fix from that thread that you really needed was this (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/freespace/Downloads/Kara_Temporary_asEffects_Workaround.rar) one (and I'm not 100% sure you even needed that one. Won't hurt any to have it though).
