I just re-installed Freespace for the first time in ages and have run into a bit of a problem. The detail level of the ships and .ani files (including explosions, warpoouts and so on...) are all terrible. I know the game is older than FS2 but it's never looked this bad before. Heres an example of what I mean. Any ideas on a fix?

Hmm, I was talking to Setekh about this earlier... there this ("http://www.descent-freespace.com/ddn/kb/registry/") but none of the entries it refers to seem to be in my registry... should I create them?

Yes, add the two key ones for sure (D3DTextureDivider and D3DUseLargeTextures). There use to be a REG file for this stuff in it, but that was a lonnnnnng time ago and I don't remember where.

The only reason it would look nice before is if you were using the registry entries or you had a 3DFX card and Glide turned on.
FS1 came out when D3D was still crappy.
