Title: Cockpit Displays
Post by: Skullar on March 10, 2005, 10:08:56 am
Just a quick question.....

would it be possible to get away from the greyscale palette cockpit displays ?

I mean instead of letting FS2_open assign RGB values to a greyscale cockpit, can we have cockpit displays that come with their own rgb values ?

I mostly think of the MESSAGE WINDOW , thus allowing colored CommAnims.

And yeah, may I ask for allowing MPGs being played there ?

It's possible to use normal-colored stuff on the HUD, yeah.

Actually implementing it properly would require some work, so remind me in a week or two when I'll have less SCP stuff I'm in the middle of. (Hopefully. ;) )

As for MPGs, probably not, you probably need a license of some sort. JPG, TGA, DDS, PCX, and of course ANIs would be possible though. (The first four would be done by using an EFF file)

Yeah, that'd be soo cool opn so many levels. I want a multicolored gun energy counter, damnit!;7

Colored head-anis could probably done with eff's.
