Ok, I know I will get railed for this one, but here goes:
There's this girl I know from online, you know, just chatting around on a lazy day when I'm not playing any games and too lazy to mod.
Anywho, long story short: she says that she's regularly taken to this hospital thingamagig out in the middle of nowhere, aand tests are run on her and lots of other children. They get her sick or something, send her home, then go out to collect her again. Apparantly the "hospital" is in Louisiana (found out by road sign), and it does some sort of experiments such as eloctroshock, testing of new drugs on humans, etc. She says anyone who has tried to do anything about it wound up dead, but I don't know about that.
Aaaaanyway, normally I wouldn't consider something like this, but it's been going on for almost a year, so it bears at least minor investigating. I personally think she's a little bit nuts, and being taken to a real hospital, she just thinks it's a prison thing.
From her description, "outside it looks like a hospital in the middle of nowhere..i don't know any names..gawd you think their that stupid..inside its like a friggin prison you get a room with nothing in it except a mattress and the doors are only openable from the outside..it has about five hundred of these rooms..."
The organization apparantly does "a whole bunch of different **** to different kids...shock testing...seeing what their newest drug will do to the human body...all kinds of ****".
Anyone hear about this/find anything about mental help facilities or any such in that state?
This girl apparantly has no parents (lives with her older bro), and has a baby (was raped). Just in case her story is true, I won't say anything about her current location.
Anyway, I told her I'd ask around, see if I could find something, and the best place I know is here. I'd go to the FBI, but she said she's tried something like that, and they just laughed or something or another. I'm seeing if you guys could either A) Tell me where to look, or B) Have some info that might prove or disprove all this.
Anyway, thanks all! :)
EDIT: More information. Apparantly it's in/next to a bog, and near the Mississippi.
-
Probably a 50 year old guy with a beer belly, sitting in front of a computer and living out his fantasy life.
-
*Shrug* That is possible. But this has been going on for awhile, so that "guy" must be pretty low. Anyway, it bears investigating on the off chance that it is true, don't you think?
EDIT: And yes I do feel like a fool posting this, but I still think it's worth it, atleast to see if it's a lie or not. If it is, then I have been had and me and some other ppl have lost some of their free time, but if I'm right, then, well....
And anyway, I've always said, if you wanted something found, HLP has the best people who can do it :)
-
Mind you don't step in the bull****....
Sounds a tad iffy to me. Do you actually know any facts about this person, or is she just a random net acquaintance? This kind of thing would be hard to keep quiet, and it's highly possible it's just someone taking the piss (the no parents plus rape baby thing is a bit :wtf: ), but I dunno. I suppose you could get someone living in Louisiana to take a drive down by the river? Although that's probably a fairly large area to cover, so it could be tricky.
Oh, and be very glad an0n's not around atm :D
-
I'm always doubtful of these stories...
What on earth could they expect *you* to do? You call it a bog, so you're probably in the UK......
-
Yes, I am :) And she used that term, not me...altho I don't know any other name to call it by, and I'm American :) A swamp? Same thing?
Anyway...yes, the bull**** is so high it's baking in the sun, but I really want to at least prove it WRONG, rather than just dismiss it, you know?
-
Ok... well, I've never heard an american call it bog, unless they were copying a Brit...... swamp, or wetland is what I usually hear...
-
The question is: Why is she telling you this?
-
erm, this is the closest I can think of, but its not even in the US.
http://www.difficultteens-tranquilitybay.com/
Yeah, keep your bull**** alert on high, but if you want to check it out, by all means. Worst case scenario is you end up wasting some of your time and being naive. Oh well, that's life. If it were me, I'de try to find out any sort of identification at all: colour of uniforms, badges, length of drive from house to hospital (which can give you a radius to search wihin)...that sort of thing. So basically, keeping in mind that anyone who doesn't want to be found/identified is going to take certain precautions, but there is no such thing as perfect security.

That alone makes me think it's not on the level... how would you know it has that many rooms, even by estimate? :wtf:
-
Yeah... very suspicious. You'd think thought that someone would notice a large building in the middle of nowhere. Like everyone else has said - I'd take what she's saying with a pinch of salt. On the one hand she could be telling the truth and going through some quite nasty stuff... on the other hand she could not even be a "she".. just some nut-case with a keyboard.
Assuming she's telling the truth - what exactly does she expect you to do about it?
-
Turns out Rictor found something interesting (thanks Rictor :)).
http://fornits.com/anonanon/
Here's someting of interest, a forum for people who have been through "WWASPS", which basically amounts to quasi-prison camps for "troubled teens" all over the US and some of the more brutal ones being off shore (Mexico, Jamaica etc)
http://fornits.com/wwf/
Turns out these things might actually exist, no?
-
Considering the amount of these camps that apparently sprung up around American in the early 00's I wouldn't be surprised. Usually though it's more of a bootcamp approach than an electroshock approach.
The problem with these kinds of stories, is that they're usually bull****.
-
True, but then there's the reality right there that should also be dealt with. (I have sent emails regarding those actual "boot camps" to CNN. There's no one better at snooping than the press :) I looked for contact info for PBS and ABC, but their websites are atrociously organized. )

:eek2:
Just what the ****..
After reading through that article, I don't really know what to say at all, all that comes to mind is that it's so unbelievable ****ed up.
I have a sudden urge to shout and scream just for the immense feeling of frustration I got after reading that (also wondering how I missed that thread.. was it long ago?).
After reading that, I'm almost inclined to believe that what this topic is about could be true :sigh:
But who knows.. as said take it with a grain of salt.
-
Hell it might be true. Unfortunately there's not much UT can do about it bar incite the girl to rebellion, which may land him in one of those places.
-
well....i would do it the easy way. Get her number. Don't call her, but sometime when she isn't expecting it, make a vcall, and then don't ask for her, ask for her brother. then just talk to him. It's been my experience that family won't let you bull**** around like this, let alone help you. Unless they are the odd ones who thrive on this crap. If she is being taken off, then i am sure that her brother can verify the absences. I don't think he will, i think that he will laugh and make fun of her. If he does verify it, then i would start digging.
On the other hand, she sounds liek a psycho....so when you do call, get a calling card, drive about an hour away, and call from a payphone.
-
Or the brother would cover for his parents for fear of being sent packing too. ;)
-
I suppose it's worth saying: Do you think that 12 year old rape incident would have happened if he had had some 'behavior modification'?

heeeey that must've been YEARS ago i saw that episode... was it the guy that killed people with cancer, in order to stay alive or something like that, and in the end he attacked Scully (in an ambulance?) right?
Also, on-topic, that's scary to think about, but i could see the government doing something like that. I agree with Shadowwolf's idea. also, if it is real, be very careful, because chances are you won't end up the hero who uncoveres a big conspiracy, you'll end up in a lot more trouble ;)
-
UT you went up a few notches in my estimation of you with this thread. You set yourself up for ridicule, knowingly, and did it on the outside chance that the girl is on the level. Personally i think that she is full of ****, but i gotta like your style none the less.
and Vyper...the girl has no parents...ie lives with her brother. The point is, if there is a baby involved, someone is taking care of the baby while she is away. Ask her who is taking care of the baby while she is gone.
LKet's look at this logically, if she says that they don't take the baby....i would think that is even more bull****. Any organization that is experimenting on human beings would be very interested in how those experiments manifest themselves in the offspring of a test subject. If the baby is the offspring of two test subjects...i would think even more so.
My other problem with this is the 500 room thing. That would be one huge complex, and should be visible through satellite photos, hell my house is visible...and in 2002, i think it was august or july, we actually had a thread where you could type in your address and it would show you the satellite photo of that address, i mayu actually search for that thread to try and help you out with this. If you anything about Louisiana, you know that bayou country is at almost sea level. Thus the bog. What this means is....no basements. If you have lived there then you know that there are almost no basements in bayou country. Which means that this structure is almost certainly above ground. That and the fact that she has aparently viewed it. So it should show up on that sat thread. Go back in time and find it, and see what you can dig up that way. You can operate it alot like the maps on mapquest, with zoom in and out, and directional settings. Things as such.

No Cancer Man had his name because he always smoked. He was the... violent, FBI front to the international conspiracy to collaborate with the invading aliens. At the end of the X-Files he was the only surviving member of the circle, the rest either having been killed by each other (a la Well Manicured Man) or by the rebel aliens who were fighting colonisation.
Also, I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss something by comparing it to the x-files. A lot of the ideas and messages behind the stories in it are easily translated into the real world: the most basic and prolific one being "the Truth".

OIn a way i have to agree with you Vyper. Many years ago Monogram had a model of the B2 Stealth bomber. The government denied the existence of the craft, now everyone knows that we have it. About 6 years ago i saw a model from Revell called the Aurora. The government denies the existence of the Aurora. I'm sure that we all know what it is so i don't need to go into it. The point is, i think that sometimes things are leaked to desensitize us to the existence, so that we see it, and when they (the government) admit to it, it isn't a big deal because we all knew it existed anyway. Just a thought.
-
Please excuse the double post.....but here is the thread with the satellite stuff in it.http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,9467.0.html (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,9467.0.html)

Thats a scarily cool program. I could see my home. But using it over the states was even better. Went to check out Disney world and Area 51. Unfortunately they blocked out the USGS imagery of Area 51 but you can still see a good image of it using the landsat 7 imagery. Hehe. Cool stuff.

I think it's because budget cutbacks mean that the USAF has no little model plane factories left for training demos.
Incidentally, RE: bootcamps; they appear to be designed to destroy self-esteem/respect, confidence, independent thinking, etc - principles much like you'd expect of a Soviet era re-education camp....they want a subservient 'drone' with no discernable personality. We don't want to destroy these individual traits that cause kids to be disobedient little arseholes - you'd want them to be applied to something which is mutually beneficial.

Wierd ****. I dont know what to say. Good luck man, be carefull. But then again, we all know of it now so soon well all be sent to a correctional faciliity in the middle of know wherez...
watch ur back, heh.

Incidentally, in the UK bog=euphemism for toilet.
Might be worth noting if you ever visit the UK.........

Thanks for the compliment, Shadowolf :) But the thing is, I don't think this facility is hidden, if it exists. I think it's actually a "legitimate" place, maintained as a mental health care center, yet inside, no one knows what really happens.
Here's the sad part: Stuff like this has happened before. I'm not sure on the details, but look up "Skinner" or something like that. Apparantly, there were other locations that were like this one, although probably to a lesser degree.
And I can't call - once again, I don't want to reveal anything, but let's just leave it at that I can't call right now. The baby is with her, and I'm assuming she kept it with her when she went to the facility, or gave it to her brother.
Now, note I am looking at all of this with speculation, but with a heavy hand to actually proving it wrong before dismissing it.
Sandwich, where on that site can I find contact information?

Thank you. Also, some more information: she said that the ppl who usually took her looked Mexican, wore grey suits (like police uniforms), carried a gun and a taser, and wore no identifying marks. Her parents died when she was four, and she says that she was taken when that happened.
If that's true, it might be an orphan pickup thing, where they take the kids away and do stuff to them, or neglect them or whatever. That's not unheard of, if you, say, look at Florida's child welfare programs.
-
Ok... assuming this is legit; what you need to find out is where that building is......like Rictor said, you'd need the starting point, the driving distance & possibly an estimated speed (maybe guess from the road bumpiness or noises of cars outside), what kind of car/etc she's transported in, if there are any landmarks on the way or visible from the building, and exactly what this building looks like. I'd be surprised if it was a former hospital in the middle of nowhere.
Also, where & what is her brother doing through all of this? If he's legally responsible, he has a duty to go to the police over it - not only that, he can act as a co-oberative witness to her.
Finally, if you get here phone number, you can sometimes get an address off of google (if it's a listed number, of course); if you're concerned enough to drive over and check, then you can make sure her story is to scratch.... and at the same time, if she seems legit you can even offer to hang around and see if she's telling the truth. The latter is well dodgy an option, though - you'd need to effectively run a stakeout, which you'd only do if you were absolutely convinced (and if she's telling the truth, that could also put you under risk).
-
Hehe, if its really come to that, Prison Planet ("www.prisonplanet.com") might be a better choice. But I wouldn't trust either of them too much, for reasons which I hope are obvious.
-
what is her address (or an address somewere near her home, or near the facility)?
what direction is the facility from this address
-
I say we all meet in Mississippi near the building, and gut the people inside.
Remember to bring a knife or a gun.
-
While the possibility of taking violent action against a symbol of our societies repressive nature is somewhat appealing, we most lack the transport costs and weapons for such a venture.
Equally, any action on UTs part may land him in a world of pain.
-
bah! you don't know how to have any fun, I say we all get together and ransack the place! wooohoooo!
and it's America, they practicly give you a gun with your passport.
-
Can't I just bomb them from afar? The media has conditioned me into wanting the easiest most impersonable possible option in warfare. ;)
-
The story is becoming simultaniously more clouded and more clear. I will open up and say that she is on the run now and contacting through a laptop plugged into a car charger (conceivable, she might be on a wi-fi connection, or like Sandwich used when he was on duty, a cellphone).
However, now that she's "out," she says that she was kept in a facility next to the "complex", and she could only tell me that she was kept at home...also, if she means that she was always there, then every email she sent me was from there. However, I tracked an IP from her old email, and it turned up as a location in California. IP masking isn't inconcievable, however, it does not give her case much credo. About the only thing that's giving me any cause for continued investigation is the fact that A) this has been going on for awhile, and B) I'm not the only one she's told this to.
However, even if this one particular case turns out to be false, the reality is that schools like this do indeed exist, and should be stomped out.
And no, I will not storm the facility, unless I have about twenty people behind me :p
-
Maybe she's an obsessed vigilante trying to get support to shut the place down.
