From the director who brought you XxX and Fast and the furious, comes this years action epic, promising to make your lips curl up and your penis fall off. Starring TWO TIME Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, behold... They bring you STEALTH!

The fighters look cool though....:nervous:
-
Looks good. :p
In fact, looks better than anything playing right now. :p
-
mmmmmmm yummy fighters :D
-
oooo, forward swept wings...
uhhhh, crazy robots....
-
AI's always screw up and kill people ... why cant it be the other way .... people go nuts
and AI try to save them :)
-
Looks like pure (male testosterone) fun. :)
-
Hurrah for a mindless excuse to chuck special effects around, with lots of lights!
(As a slight aside... aside from the Hollywood perogative, why do most computers/tech ever need to have so many exposed lights and such? There's just no good reason!)
-
but ..... it's cool @ kal
-
mmm....Jessica Biel
I mean... Looks like a cool movie.
:nervous:
-
Whoooo! Finally, some jet combat! Awesome!

That's exactly what I was thinking this morning. :)
Number of humans killed by other humans = Several hundred Million at least
Number of humans killed by homicidal sentient computers = 0

Heh one of those movies you switch your brais off while watching. But hey as long as it's entertaining, I dig.
-
this is the first fighter movie iv seen i think .... topgun was too much talk

I actually thought Seth as soon as I saw it, but on second thought I can see a Horus in it too.
Looks awesome...

I quite like the idea of the ring of fire thing... As last year could easily be called one of the worst film years in history, this year seems to be an excelent one! Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Scanner Dark, Kingdom of Heaven, Narnia, Stealth, Sin City, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Unleashed and of course Constantine thats allready come out. So looks like the year is chockfull of entertainment. Tis a good thing. :D
-
Looks average...I might rent it. AI's always go bad....always. Its a fact of life :D
Just look at the FS2 AI, they can't hit a darned thing.

Am I the only one who felt misleaded by the title of the movie 'XXX'?

It stared Vin Diesel, consider yourself lucky you were misled. There's only one sub-genre that leads with the guys name :p

Ah.... good point.
Something with that trailer - which sort of idiot would build a state of the art fighter, add in a military AI, and not think to lightning-proof it. Especially considering that every other plane in the world is shielded against it........
-
You honestly think this movie fits into any kind of catagory that relates to reality?
-
Thats why I love these types of movies. Reality is but a vague concept in these movies. Whatever looks cool, becomes reality. If a car can flip over, through a truck while the driver unloads his uzi with one hand, killing 8 terrorists then steers the car in mid-air back around, landing just in time over a draw bridge then doing a donut ring on the other side just in time to see the bridge explode... Tis good entertainment. :D
-
Meh. Looks lame to me. Although I do like the Horus/Seth ship. (Looks more like a Seth than a Horus to me, but meh)

Maybe it's cause they wanted it to start saying "No disassemble number 5" halfway through and turn the movie into a comedy romp :D
-
Maybe they were doing a Nebula op?

Johnny Five is ALIVE! Rock on, Johnny - rock on.

Oh, and nitpick number 2; why the hell does every movie seem to need a red 'eye' for their evil machine baddy? I mean, we've seen HAL, we're not going to be any more scared or impressed by a 2 bit knockoff. and why does the evil-ai-monster have a cockpit? It's not even the same fighter, do we really need to have "little evil ball of AI death" to have a visible bad guy? What's it going to do? Roll after us?
-
 . Stupid looking movie.

I Robot?
Anyway, mmh... human piloted planes versus screwed up computer piloted planes, where have I seen that before? Oh yeah, Macross Plus :p
-
Why the DNA looking thingy when the AI get's hit by the lightning?

That's a computer program. Apparently, lines of writing on a screen isn't good enough for the movies, so we get this bizarre **** full of flashy lights every time we have computers on screen.
EDIT; oh, and now we know - massive electival overloads don't break fragile circuits in any way, they just make them work in a nice evil way.
And apparently plane-flying AIs need blue mood lighting.......

Also Gundam Wing, though that was most likely derivative of Macross Plus. They were called Mobile Dolls or something along those lines.
-
Man, who cares if it's got a red eye? For all we know, it might just be an homage to HAL. And besides, it's not a movie you'd go to for the cinematic genius and the storyline.. you see it to watch stuff explode.

Intertextuality my friend....intertextuality...
*cheers for post modernism and all of its evils*
:D

Who cares about all of the "Why this?" and "Why that?" I've never heard of this movie before today, but now I'm very interested in seeing it as soon as it comes out. Screw mind-teasers; I prefer mindless action and **** blowing up. :D
-
looks slightly better than any other movie that's come out over the last year or two.
better than the last bunch of movies the uy has put out anyway.
just be thankfull that they didn't do the old "humanoid robot in a normal cockpit" thing, I'm glad to see that we've moved beond that supidity.
-
Looks fine to me on a 'turn brain off and watch asplosions' level. I can enjoy a mindless action film so long as it has some kinda scifi/fantasy/otherwise abnormal thingy in it. And in my opinion there's no such thing as far fetched in fiction.
-
Looks god-awful to me. Although the Seth-looking plane looks pretty cool.

Because sometimes the stupidity bores its way into your brain, and you have to get it out of there sometimes. That, and these things are dangerous.
How many poor kids watched Under Siege and wanted to be Steven Seagal?! The poor wee bastards, restricted to a life of underemoting and whispering vague sinister threats, and usually with a heavily constipated expression!
