Wait until you see this:

Two 6800 Ultra GPUs on a single PCB.
-
yeah i saw this on the last month issue on Maximum PC
pretty cool i think
and hey did you ever hear of the SLI rig deal??
you know linking two 6800's up together for more robust power?

Why?
-
why ra?
cuz the power users around here appreciate tid bits of news like this
now shooo
-
But it's such an arrogant waste of money.......
-
I was posting this on the basis that it was quite ludicrous. Why would someone buy a video card for $700+ that's not a professional rendering card?
-
lol ok i guess ppl with big pockets would buy this but im not sure
-
Can it handle Lightspeeds ShineHTH pack though? :drevil:

well, if you have it on SLI, overclocked, with dual loop phase change cooling and no bottlenecks anywhere else in the system, then the awnser is no. If you had mabye twelve of them.... mabye.
-
Buh? My 9600XT can handle them! :p
-
Wheres the cooling solution!?

'power users'
Um............ooooooookkkkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy.......
-
Can you SLI that mother?
-
That one probably not - looking at the circuitboards.
Hmm, 700? £364 for a v-card? Meh.
-
Yeah, rub the exchange rate in, why don't you. *grumbles*
-
They had some more pictures of it over at Hexus. Here's one of it with the cooler:

You just about need a second box for the damned thing...
-
So, you can run two screens? well, so does my FX5200... *shrug*
-
Damnit, I think I've seen smaller mobo's.....

I totally agree

NVidia's approach to R&D makes me sad.
-
but it would be so cool! And if you could SLI that mother it would be like having 4 video cards!!!!!!11111oneoneone

no, because at absolute zero the card would not work ;) (i.e. all molecules stop moving)
now maybe a few degrees above absolute zero ;)

That would be true if this was actually developed by nVidia. Here, though, you can blame Asus, as they were the ones that developed the card and PCB.
-
:wtf: I wouldn't be able to close my casing with that ... thing. Look at the size compared to the slot bracket! :eek2:
-
512 DDR3 Memory...
WOW...
-
You don't have to get that to get 512MB GDDR3. nVidia and ATi are both coming out with variants of their high end cards with that quantity.
