Classes are yet to be finalized.  Texturing and turreting also not done.

They're nice models, but I don't like designs much.

I like the last one the most.
Some of the others, have a primitive object feel. Nice detail, but still scream "I'm a box" or "I'm a cylinder". Not bad, probably more realistic, but less inovative.
But yeah great works. :D

btw, why are you running the devils program? :p (steam)

Um... I'm not sure on the designs.  I have a bit of an aversion to intersections, for one thing :)

The 'design's are good. However, multiple intersecting objects aren't...

I know I poor spelling.  Thats no big secret.  The Mjollner textued one is exactly that, a Mjollner.  Only a lot stronger.  It acctualy has four missile turrets and four standard turrets on top of a beam turret.

I am running the Devils program (steam) to play half life and CS.  Got a problem with it?  I know its evil and should die.  But so should windows...

IMO, Truespace is a good program. It lacks a bit in some areas but at least it's free.

Well the SDF-1 and the Orion are amongst my fav designs of all time.

Super-Dimensional Fortress.  It's from Robotech/Macross, though if you're not familiar with the series that probably doesn't mean much.

It'd be much simpler just to add a (J) or something at the end of the model number to indicate it's capable of space folding, but noo...

There are times when good translation is not a good thing. This and J-Pop are good examples.

Anyway, dragging the topic back on course. What is that giant gun thing with engines for? (The last two pictures).

The bastard child of an Orion, the SDF-1, and the carrier ship shown in the Quake II manual.

It depends.  It's bad practice, and if faces are close anywhere you'll get some flickering as the z-buffer has trouble deciding what to render on top.  I know you can save polys that way, but I'm not sure you want to depend on it working properly on the main hull object.

I wanted to bring some Vas esthetics to a tryed and true Terren design.  Also I think that if they intend to fend off many more invasions they need to work out there stregnths and design true warships that use the best of both races.

It doesn't turn into a mech - it merly has to reconfigure its modules to bridge a gap where the known missing warp drive used to be.
...which is a corny excuse to make it look humanoid.

Never the less it never does any mechish moves beside the transformation, so I thing it is forgivable.

Beside the SDF1 is the most advanced piece of technology in Macross so it actually makes sense to make it somewhat unconventional.
