Title: The Templar Campaign
Post by: ChampionHyena on March 20, 2005, 05:52:33 pm
Hello, all. Long time FreeSpacer, first time poster. I first bought FreeSpace 2 early in its existance after playing it in some internet cafe near my house, so rest assured it was not the sci-fi sim game of the year edition (or whatever it was called). Neither my version or the (gasp) HOTU version has the Templar campaign, and I feel a little cheated. Is there a way to get this campaign without having to ransack EBay or somesuch for the newer edition?

I only have the multi version. I assume you want single...

I have Interplay's 20th Annivesary Edition, so it comes with the Templar campaign. Great fun.

Doesn't justify the $70 price tag, but I suppose Interplay was getting desperate, considering they got bought out a month later. ;)

See, this is why I just want Templar. I ain't payin' seventy freakin' bucks for a game I already paid for just to get another campaign. Is there a way someone who has the new edition could package it up and send it to me and I could just copy it to my FS2 directory, or is that not possible? Even better, a place where I could just download it on its own would be fantastic.

That's odd...I could have sworn the HOTU version came with Operation Templar. Mine did...

I was trying to search for it for you, because I remember someone hosted it a while back, but this is going back a few years. No luck yet. Blitzerwhatever should have posted it if he had it.

I'm sensing tension. Meh, it isn't that big. I'll post it. If I hear "Blitzerwhatever" again though, it will get ugly. You save four characters typing my correct username, anyway.

Oh, and you'll have to copy the URL into the address bar. I blame freewebs.

Installation: Extract to missions folder. I expect at least .5 reputation points for this. Either that or a Roy Rogers.

There are no reputation points here, budday. :p

And lol at that.

/me makes another jab at j00 for having to be prodded to help others. :p

I have to be prodded to do anything. You actually did quite well, considering I usually just emit a "murph" when jabbed. Don't count on me doing anything like this again, though. The sheer pain of actually helping someone seems to have broken something.

Anyways, has anyone tried the download yet? I know you have, I'm losing bandwidth.

Not me. I don't even play FS anymore. :p

How can you not play FS and still work on TVWP?

That would complicate matters, I think.
