I have the ISO's but have no clue how to install them.
-
You have to burn it on a CD-R.
Or use Daemon Tools to mount it.
-
Daemon Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/portal.php)

Alcohol

Hey thanks guys. I figured it out and I ended up using ISObuster. Another problem, now im trying a full install and when it asks for disk2 it says error 113 act 1 command briefs. also something about tango1 vp....
-
Try a minimal install. You can copy most of the files to your HD off of the CD later if that works. Even if you can't I have some files around here from the HotU version of FS2 that you could use to make the game ignore the missing command briefing animations.

Thanks Omni but I bought this the day it came out a very long time ago. My house was robbed a couple years ago and I dont want to pay for the same softwear twice.

I gave up and put a bid on that ebay item lol

CD2 is corrupt? Where did u get this torrent from chriseid?
-
From here (http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?mode=torrentdetails&id=133074).
I dont know whats wrong with it but it just wont install.
-
That torrent looks.....weird.
-
Interesting, a comment on that torrent involves overburning a cd. That may be the problem. But this problem shouldn't be if you are using a cd image software like isobuster or Daemon tools.
-
Yea, I cant say I understand either. It just wont install. Its damn annoying considering the time it took to download. Theres just no reason for it to **** up it these are realy the isos.
-
I have an idea, can someone post the exact contents of CD2 and I will compare them with what I have.
-
Also, do you think those .cue files have anything to do with my installation troubles?
-
1) There is an edit button, look at the lower right of every post.
2) Triple-posting: Bad!
3) Do you know how to make an md5 hash?
-
Yea, sorry, dont normaly do that on other forums.
And no, I dont have the slightest clue what that is but if it will help, im all ears man, thanks.
-
Nevermind then, it was just an easy way to check if a certain file got downloaded with out corruption, but I can't remember where to get the software.
Anyway, try what Karajorma said, a minimum install.
-
Yea I already tried that. It copied all the files but still asked for CD2... oh well
-
Download this file (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/freespace/Downloads/HotUv1.20Pack.rar), unrar it to your Freespace2 folder. It will overwrite the files you have with the cracked no-CD 1.2 versions.
Basically it's the 1.2 patch and the solution to the asking for a CD problem rolled into one :)
-
hmmm I dont quite understand karajorma. are you saying I should add that file to the directory where im installing FROM or that it should go where I install the game. cause if you mean the latter, then that wont work because it asks for the cd2 during install.
*EDIT: I attempted to complete a basic install and simply copy the folders before the installer could roll back when it couldnt find CD2, this worked. However, after I unziped the files from your rar into the Freespace 2 directory and ran the game, it crashed and displayed a bunch of error messages that were talking about missing files.
Im realy begining to think that nothing will work. I just dont understand though. Why is this hapening to me and not the people that are seeding the file??(unless they are seeding it knowing it doesnt work)
-
What I meant for you to do is do a basic install and then copy those files over the versions you have.
Now that I think of it though that may not work because now the game would expect everything to be on the HD.
Try that and tell me what files it complains about missing.
