Judging from the list of "Help Needed" threads recently (admittedly some of them started by myself), I thought about starting a new thread where every modder/FREDer could list their abilities and availability in case they need help.

Two years of FREDing experience, and I actually enjoy FRED.

Availability:

Not at all. After losing two previous half-finished campaigns to a system crash, Blitzerland is now working on his latest project, to-be-announced. After he proves his compatence by finishing said-project, he will either join nuclear1 in FREDing GTI Rebellion, or beg TVWP for a position. Maybe both.

Faults:

Refers to himself in third person whilst listing traits, uncanny ability to get into flamewars and other misunderstandings without actually doing anything. It's true!

Furthermore, it took Blitzerland five minutes to notice this had been stickied.

Modelling: I usually do good when I have a model for reference, any others take a while.
Skinning: VERY basic.
Effects: Zilch. Nada. Zip. Nil. None.
POF Editing: Expert.

I can make logos for a campaign, PM me or contact me thru Yahoo Messenger or MSN messenger.
Voice Acting is also applicable.

FREDding (I like to think I'm competent, though I'm not a master by any means)
Writing: dialogue, scripts/storylines, background info, tech-nonsense etc.
Modelling: Extreme hardcore n00b(TM) ship-maker. I can make decent (IMO at least) models, but I have no texturing, lodding or converting experience as of yet, and it's likely to remain that way for some time, as I have little time to learn.

Availability:

In a word, no. :D I'm FREDding for SA, TVWP and ITN (158th Banshees), my own little project (who isn't though? :p), I may end up fleshing out the ITN storyline for later chapters (pending discussions with Spicious et al), and I'm currently drowning in RL stuff (coursework, uni applications, personal crisis).

Freespace version:

SCP (3.6.5), though I'm behind on much of the new stuff. High-poly models, high-res effects etc. are largely missing from my machine as I lose track of releases very quickly, and some stuff seems to break other stuff...

Well, there's little point in me putting this up there but here it goes anyway:

   -FREDer; about a years experience. Working on my own little, well actually HUGE project which will likely never get done at this rate.
   -basic table modifications / can't do jack with models
   -have some grasp of the english language so pretty good with proofreading.

Availability:
    -maybe some proofreading, help with english second-language writers and so forth. But I doubt anything more than that.

Oh, my God, people, please stop already.

I've said it a billion times already, but still nobody seems to get it. Cobra, stop taking everything so goddamn personally.

Goober, there was little need for that post mocking Cobra's abilities. A simple editing would have had the same effect.

Other vets, just stop. Don't irritate--it just makes the situation worse.

This thread is for listing the abilities provided by the Freespace community for modding and campaign building, not[/u] for flaming Cobra for having excessive self-confidence.

Abilities:
FRED - Formerly had about 6 months worth of experience - but that was 3 years ago.

Writing - Proficient - I took several high level creative writing classes, and write sci fi fiction for fun.  I have two stories right now that I will shortly start working on for FS2 - I like to write more than I like to code, and would make a good match for someone who likes to collaborate or just likes to code (read: use fred) if there are people like that out there :confused:

Weekends - particularly Saturday nights (have no life - nope none what so ever)

I'm down for whatever - don't know if anyone would want my voice but I'd try it out - and as said, I proof read well (don't judge forum writing to = real writing)

~ Voice Acting, but only if family isn't home 'cause they are already worried he's schizo.

    As for me:

Abilities:
- basic texturing (mainly cut&paste)
- basic UV-mapping
- near expert tabling (at least for ships and weapons.tbl)
- basic to medium FREDing (though I'm really no good at story telling or the like; also I'm suffering badly from the BoE-syndrome)
- basic to medium modeling (but takes me a lot of time usually)
- basic coding (will look at the SEXP-tutorial within some weeks; can't make any promises though)

- medium to expert pof-editing

FRED - a lot of uncompleted missions, imagination aint the best thing here...
Voice Acting... see for yourself a sample of my voice (http://www.top-download.net/forum/pece-stuff/slavic.mp3) can do a lot of different accents tho.
3D stuff(texturing modelling) - year and a half or more, but nothing for FS2...

    * FRED - A couple months worth.  I tried to create my own campaign in FS1 where the folks on the...Delta Serpentis side of the Lucifer explosion started their own campaign to take back Shivan space.  Of course, I got busy and never came close to finishing it.

    * Voiceover - Did some work for a game that never came out called "Culpa Innata".  It was developed in Turkey, but I did the work in Chicago.  Any of my European friends ever hear of it?

    -  Also was the voice of Admiral Ahmose, Commander Syme, "The Hapti is a Scion vessel. We are being boarded" Vasudan, and "I think not command, this vessel is now under Scion control.  Engaging drives in 5, 4, 3..." Vasudan in the BWO demo.  It was a blast.  Hope I can help out in the full version campaign

Might as well throw my info in here...

Mission design: main strength, 7.5 years of experience
Modeling and POF editing: complete retard, can make cubes and spheres
Writing/proofreading: excellent English, spelling/grammar nazi, knowledge of FS universe befitting a true fanboy
Textures and 2D graphics: novice, can make simple interface graphics and do minor touchup work
Tables: good working knowledge, nothing remarkable
Mission testing: super excessively picky, take forever to get my own missions done
Programming: nothing relevant to the SCP, will try to pick up C++ if I get the time

Availability: none right now, but may have time for stuff in the future
Version: variable, changes every few days with new SCP releases, but using 9/17/05 build most of the time

Mission Freding: almost more than 7 years experience
Cutscene Freding: 4 months experience

Availability:
not now... maybe some helping out but no complete freding
working on TBP: TBH & TBP: AotB right now... AotB is though to finish in April or May... TBH is a loooong project (10 chapters, 1st is waiting for testing after 3.3 refit; 2nd is in the making) - Got two other storylines in the making ("TBP: ToN"; "TBP: TVH")

+ every SCP build I can get for whatever I need to do

Abilities: At the moment, pretty much voiceacting.  I did Commodore Cooper in Shrouding the Light and Tau Sigma Station in the recent Derelict re-release, and I'll also be playing a part in Rogue Intentions.  As for FREDding/modeling/anything else, maybe someday...

Availability:  Pretty much any time.  I don't need much of an excuse to take time out from work. :p

Ability:  Spellchecking and revising briefing and dialogue text.  I'm also an excellent writer.  I specialize in "punching up" dialogue and briefing texts.

Availability:  Not good for the immediate future.  Have a research paper and a gigantic group physics project due in the next couple of months.  I will post again when I am less stressed.  Shouldn't be more than a couple of months... >.<

Freespace Version:  Not sure, haven't updated in a looooong time, but I think it's 3.6.7 with some extra stuff thrown in.  (Lightspeed's nebulas, etc.)

     --Writing. Conceptualization, can formulate interesting plotlines and produce gripping fiction as necessary. Mission concepts and outlines are a go (not FREDding).
     --English. Fairly adequate grasp upon the English language. Proofreading skills are top-notch.
     --Music. Can compose musical scores to accompany a story (better with some sort of visual). Amateur, but can and will progress very quickly. Orchestral or Electronica.

Availability:
     --High School. As much time as my classes and consequential work allow me.
     --StarFox MOD. Current on-board story-writer. Primarily committed to them.

FS Version:
     --Any as necessary.

   - Beta tester - Very good at finding even the smallest errors in grammer or just about                  anything (obsessive compulsive disorder :-/)
   - Voice acting - I'm 18 so I probably would only be good as a pilot voice.
   - Creative - I come up with random idea's all the time for just about everything, especially            storyline plots.

  -  Pretty much 4:00-9:00 central on weekdays, and anytime on weekends. Soon to have alot        more time.

- None. Currently working on my 22 Mission Eternal campaign still...

- Done heaps of unreleased missions for use in campaign which have been ditched.
