Quite interesting. I wonder if they'll be able to determine if they were endothermic...
-
Now let us clone some T-rex and feed them cows!
-
Dude! Totally!
-
oh yes, cloning them would be a great idea. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107290/)
-
Ahh, but those movies were flawed, they never introduced the nuke-bomb to the area. :p

7.4 out of 10 - not too bad, I'd say. ;)
-
But the outcome of that would be, like, Godzilla * 1000!!1!11! :nervous:
-
Jurassic Park was a good movie. It's sequels were utter **** but Jurassic Park was quite a good movie.
-
It was entertaining but I don't really agree with the "don't mess with nature" message.
-
What would you expect from a luddite like Crichton? All his books are about how tecnology is bad.
-
I kinda hoped the raptors would try and attack the Marines in the end of 3. Just to prove that the problem was a lack of modern automatic weaponry in the previous movies.
Back on topic, I hear the soft tissue looks like an ostrich's.

I wouldn't exactly call it technology in the sense we know it, I mean we are talking about timetravel and cloning dinasaurs here, not WiFi. Plus, they have to be disastrous, otherwise there would be no plotline.
-
Heh, cloning a T-Rex...
And you lot thought Horses were well endowed :p
-
Umm, dude? They're not built like that...:blah:
-
Oh? You've seen a real TRex before, have you? :p
-
cool. I would want to go to that zoo!

That's distrubing...
-
Now what if we could clone apparantly docile dinosaurs? Thems would be a cool bet.
"Yeah, he's getting big, but what do you expect with a Bronto?"

That's because his apocalyptic story about humanities deaths at the hands of an army of electric toasters didn't do too well on the bestseller lists.

You could easily write the books so the problems are due to abuses of the technology rather than the technology itself. His whole agenda iis one of don't mess with Nature or high technology because everyone will die horribly if we do.
He's almost as bad Kevin "Captain Cyborg" Warwick

Though they made three games and at least two popular sci-fi series out of it...
*glances over at the Cybrids and Cylons, both of whom have been called toasters*

Actually, Ostritch doesn't surprise me, those things can run like the wind, and can actually kill a human with a single kick. Luckily for us, they're vegetarian :)

I actually like Crichton as an 'airport paperback' writer, but it's true.
Last book of his I read was about an agent based system that somehow becomes sentient, evil and eventually 'posesses' people (at the end)... really all very bizarre and somewhat implausible.
(Of course, I have the benefit of a few months working on an agent system at uni in knowing this is not really likely)

hey, crichton rocks. okay so his stories are a bit repetitive in the theme sense, but he's a good writer. any one read "a case of need"? that was written under a pseudonym, i don't remember what it was. but it was basically pro-abortion.

Emergency Room?

and when exactly did he turn that into a book?
