Title: detecting WEP networks in win2000
Post by: Stealth on March 25, 2005, 04:30:05 pm
i've got a wireless B network card, and i'm trying to join a wireless network that i KNOW exists here at work.  XP has that neat "wireless networks found" thing, where you can view the wireless networks, join them, (with encryption even), etc.  but how do i do that on windows 2000?

My card didn't come with any software to detect/join WEP networks.

Have you looked at the Network Connections control panel? If the card's installed, there might be something in there IIRC.

yeah i see it there, and it's showing as "disconnected", but if i go to "configure", then it's got Network Type, network channel, SSID, etc. but nothing to do with "encryption"... :(
