:D
http://fs2source.warpcore.org/temp/lowpoly.ogg
It's in OGG format as I tried MP3 and it ruined the effect (not to mention was 400 k larger) :ick:
This is the music your grandparents played FS to. :D

High-quality version (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/temp/hipoly.ogg)
Original-quality version (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/temp/origpoly.ogg)
While I was uploading the low-poly version, I fooled around some more and made an attempt at improving on the original FS1 music.
All the samples used the same recording/conversion method to get 'em to OGG.
Edit: fixed link
-
SNARGH! You screwed up the second link.

AWESOME. FS music > FS2 music in almost every way...

*disagrees*
FS music sounds so...bleepy and generic...after listening to Fs2 music. Especially the Leviticus track. Love it.
-
Haha, neat.

Eh... I found the FS2 music much more memorable, though I do think FS1 is one of the better game soundtracks. After playing A Lion at the Door, I frequently found myself humming Numbers. And Joshua in particular is one of my favourite tracks from any game. I thought all the vocal stuff was awesome.

Find something that plays OGG. WinAmp and Quintessential Player are good.
-
I read what he said. My thoughts were on the lines of "as long as it playes, its good enough."
Which of the 2 are a smaller file & do u happen to have a link?
-Thanks btw.
-
Freespace 1 had a much more memorable soundtrack.

Disagree. Frankly I think about half of it is pretty plain, and while the other half is quite good for game music, it never really stuck with me.

I like FS2_Cinema

Dude, try searching. The first result, on either Google search, gives you what you want.

I thought it was cheap, but oh well. Both games have got a couple of wonderful tracks IMO, though I do slightly favor the original game.
-
It's better than the hokey techno-fest of Fs1. And the mere sound of the cheap vocals horrificly maimed one of my cats.
We here, at House Blitzerwhatever, greatly prefer the music and audio of Fs2.
-
Someone posted on here before something to the effect of FS2's music = space whale music or something. I've always preferred the original FS1 tracks over most of FS2's. FS2's music is still pretty good. my fav from that is probably Numbers. The music when you're in the SOC mission and everyone turns against you, now that was something that stuck with me.
-
I always thought FS2 sound and music was better than the original hands down. But FS1 had a certain flair to it as well.

Can't remember who it was, but I remember someone describing it as FS1's music being action space sim music, and FS2's being that for an epic space opera. Which is a reasonably accurate description I think.
