um... take with a pinch of salt if you wish.

[q]Food containers: 67,000 people are injured every year trying to peel cellophane off sandwiches, opening a ready meal or opening a ring-pull can. Six out of ten of these, around 150 a day, stab themselves trying to open a jar or ready meal with a knife.[/q]
-
[q]Vegetables: One of the best quotes ever committed to paper came courtesy of the New Scientist magazine which reported that "the number of injuries inflicted by vegetables remains unacceptably high, at 13,132".[/q]

Bears: The UK may be devoid of grizzly bears, but we do have Teddy Bears. More people are killed by teddy bears here than by grizzly bears in those countries which have them.

:shaking:
the kitchen is TRYING TO MURDER ME
-
Bras: Two women were killed in London when a bolt of lightning hit the metal underwiring in their bras! There is also a link between bra-wearing and breast cancer. A study in 1991 showed that women who never wore a bra had half the risk of breast cancer compared to those who did.
Wow.

Study directed by the mother's-milk-only-for-infants defense group of Ohio, of course :p

A quick search on google turned up more details. Where was this research published? In a peer reviewed journal? Of course not. It was published in a book by a couple of people who aren't even doctors. How did they get their samples? The went to Fiji and noticed that the women there didn't get cancer as much as western women decided this was due to the fact that they didn't wear bras cause one day the female author wore a bra that was too tight and had red marks and then came up with some bull**** theory about how the wire in a bra prevents circulation of the lymph and allows toxins to build up in the body.
I will now endevour to have this pair taken out and shot for their crimes against pertness. :)

Dishwasher: A common injury is scalding caused by opening the door while the machine is in operation. On one occasion the mere act of emptying the dishwasher was fatal when in 2003 Jane McDonald in Lanarkshire fell onto a protruding knife while removing the clean utensils.
And this, everyone, is why you load knifes and forks pointing down. :(

You know what? This is natural selection at its best.
I'll stand by that statement right up untill my computers monitor falls from my desk and crushes me to death.
