Title: My first render in a while: Terran Pride

Hercules mk1/mk2 (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif). Or dark's appolon mk2 (even if I don't really like the design, the work is in there).

This is in the running for the best FS art I have ever seen, but there STILL has to be something that needs improvement that I could point out...even the engine glows all look right. It now has pride (pun intended (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)) of place on my desktop (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif). I'm afraid though, I have to side with venom on one thing though, any picture called 'Terran Pride' has to have at least one Orion in it but WHO CARES!!! its still one kick-arse picture (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

While this doesn't detract from the quality of the pic (I'm using it as my wallpaper (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)) if there should be any class of destroyer in there it would have to be the Orion. If anyone can remember the FS1 tech description for the Orion:

I didn't say it detracted from the quality of the work!! I just said it could only get better if there was a Destroyer in it! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

That comment wasn't directed at you in particular, I'm sorry if you took it personally. What I was trying to get across was that I didn't think the pic was crap just because it didn't have a destroyer in it. In effect, basically what you just said.

Kazan: Spire is a paint/rendering program created by Setekhs brother (and a little help from Setekh I think) and it's hella cool, as it's custom made for the things Setekh does with it (space pics). If only I could get a copy of that baby on windows...

I can't seem to get my hands on a decent recompiler (I can't use the IBM one my brother has at work), so the one you have is probably all trashed anyway.

At the back of the Deimos is a weird blue light. I don't know where the blue light source is from but it looks weird.

The three Hercs in the top of the picture are all angled (sp?) in the same direction.

All in all this is a great pic (my wallpaper right now) and I hope I don't sound like a jackass when I critize. I just want to help you to improve your (future) pics.

I did that on purpose... They're really flying in formation, and from that far, it's not difficult to distinguish ships flying on slightly different angles. Tell your wingmen to form on your wing and you will see what I mean (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

But looking at the different versions of actual fighters, I think NankamTechnologies ( I think it's the spelling) would have called it Perseus special, or something else. Darkshear just agreed to help me out the other day and said 1-2 weeks.
