Title: Err... now that FRED's workingish again...
Post by: Black Wolf on March 29, 2005, 12:34:50 pm
Can someone look into implementing an 'Import Background' button? I asked ages ago, but it kind of got forgotten.

And yes, I know. It's lazy and indulgent and it could be done in notepad in a minimum of fuss. But as a feature it'd be convenient, and apparently not particularly difficult to implement. So if someone has a spare half hour somewhere in the not too distant...?

It's even easier than notepad! All you gotta do is rip out the guts of the mission and save it as a new mission file. Although it is wise to make a backup of the origional mission just in case you hit 'save' instead of 'save as'.

Well, yes, but it's only slightly more convenient than ripping it out of Notepad if you have to open another proram.

I only really ask because last time I asked about it, Goober said it could be done in a relatively short period of time, but FRED was being difficult at the time. I was hoping that now that it's working, someone might take a shot at implementing it into FRED. But, as noted, there are other ways of getting it done, so if there're other priorities, that's cool.

Hmm.  Fred is no longer being difficult, so this should be doable.

Ask me again this weekend.
