Yep. Apparently he was spotted in action in Manchester this time.
A teenage gangster has become the first victim of a craze for miniature "designer" guns disguised as key fobs.
Fabian Flowers, 19, a member of Manchester's Longsight Crew, is believed to have shot himself in the head while trying to test the weapon's apparently faulty firing mechanism.
[Snip]
An inquest yesterday heard that Flowers's final words to his friends were: "I'm going to put it to the test - watch."
One friend said: "He put it to his head and I heard a bang. I got the impression that he thought the safety catch was on and it was perfectly safe."
Here's the article (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/03/31/ngunn31.xml&sSheet=/news/2005/03/31/ixhome.html) and case you're wondering what a Key fob gun looks like here's (http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/news/s/137/137333_hunt_for_the_keyfob_guns.html) an older one with a picture of one.

It's the part of the key ring that you don't put the keys on basically. The bit you grab hold of when you take it out of your pocket.
-
And why, in the name of everything resembling sanity, would you want a firearm on something that you'd grab as you pulled your keys out of your pocket?

Free vasectomies?

I think it's something to to with the fact that they are easily concealable like a sort of modern day Deringer.
I saw one on TV though and it appears to have no safety and those to buttons in the middle are seperate triggers for each barrel. Which basically means that anyone stupid enough to put one of these in their pocket when loaded has a good chance of accidentally pressing one of them and blowing off something they had intended to keep.

Errm. Yeah. Go Darwinism.

Because any gun ownership here is illegal.... so it makes it harder to get caught.
And...

"I'll shoot myself in the head to check the gun works"

I think he was trying to prove that the safety catch was working.
