it's so easy to make graphics with..
you try going to a school whose computers only have Paint shop pro 7 installed.. :blah:
anywho.. this is part of my mid-year assignment, design, and create an entire website from scratch.. so i'm overhauling my own website.. and here's a sample of what i'm up to.

Lose the green thing with the fox (the color I mean).

It don't mesh.

Otherwise

I think the bumpy bits might have a little bit too much of a value range in them, and it kinda distracts from the words/rest of it...might be a good idea to try toning it down a bit.

Also, the wires could use some shadows as well, but I'm sure you'll get to that eventually.

I also agree with BD. You might want to make that red or blue, as your wires are already red and blue, and your words bit is blue.

hrm, thanks for the input, i might just spread the metallic bit out, and make that orb blueish as per the suggestions.. thanks :)

Edit: actually, i might make the roll-over glowy thingies (runes) emit a greenish glow, so it'd kinda tie in with the rest of the interface.

Edge looks like crap now.

The fox thing still doesn't mesh. You were better off with the Green.

Kudo's for working on the textures from scratch. Would take quite a bit of fiddling for me to get there.
How'd you do it?
- Render Cloud, then play around with the metallic effects or something?

I think I might look into doing something similar to that course. I've kind of screwed up my life as it is. Java and Graphics Design are the only things I've really got going for me. :blah:
You seem to be doing alright.

I'm not that flash a drawer / sketcher except on the occasional fluke I come out with something good. But I like alot of digital art stuff, so I guess that's where I should try and push my career.

Again, nice work as always Turnsky.

render cloud, sponge, tweak brightness/contrast, and dab on a bit or a light, burnt orange (low opacity) for a few flecks of rust.

*time warp =should be after turnsky's next post*
Kewl.

Hey, have you ever played with a gui design that is aimed to appear made from light?
As if everything's being drawn in a Holo-panel or from laser beams etc.

It's an idea I've been pondering of late that I'm not quite sure how to pull off...
Any suggestions?

Ah well, guess I'll just have to play with it myself.

Hope to see more of your new design soon. :)

Here are my suggestions... adding some bump mapping to the border so it looks more metallic, and shade them so you don't see the... the... can't find the word... the jaggies? If you put the logo like it's glowing in the same color that the title, maybe it will be cooler than now! But nice design anyway!

Nice job - just one miner grumble - can you increase the contrast or change the colors slightly in the words 'The Foxfire Chronicles' a bit? Right now its a bit difficult to read the words 'The' and the first few letters of 'Foxfire' against the background.

Excellent work though :D

Way better. I'd still make the fox cyan as the other text is though :p

Nice.
I would probably agree with the adjustment on contrast on text though.

What are the buttons going to look like? :)
