The right (giving us back our social freedoms), or the wrong (taking even more of them away)?

You could have made an unbiased post, but nooooo.

Incoming political thread! Evade! Evade! :nervous:
-
I was thinking about that deep, but if yo ureally think I'm wrong, give me a good reason as to how losing our freedoms is a good thing, and I'll change the post.

It's a damn acronym. Proper usage should be "The P.A.T.R.I.O.T. act".
Looks a bit more ominous now, doesn't it?
Here's a quote that scares me:
"Experience has taught the FBI that there are no neat dividing lines that distinguish criminal, terrorist and foreign intelligence activity," Mueller said in his prepared testimony.
Does anyone know of an accurate list of the Patriot act's provisions with some sort of denotation for which expire and which don't? I was under the impression that the search warrant thing did expire.

The wrong, of course. It's easier to take than give.

This is why democracy is a constant row against the tide. It will always be counterintuitive for governments to grant people real liberty. So how do they solve the problem? Convince the people they don't want liberty anyway. Yay.

One sign that HLP is returning to normal...
-
The right.
...
I feel like being optimistic today.

It'll go through. The Republicans control both the Senate and Congress. Even if every single Democrat opposd it, which they're not going to, PATRIOT still gets renewed.
-
You're ****ed. Yes, blindly patriotic yankee boys I'm talking to you. You're about to get a lesson in fascism you won't soon forget.
-
I've always held fast to the belief that voting was useless and assassination was the only way for political change to take place.

Quick! Someone pack up all the jazz, books, hot dogs, and all of Broadway! We're moving in with you guys across the Atlantic!

You can come to Canada if you like, but there's no way we're letting Broadway across the border. We've got our own talentless hacks to deal with, don't need any more thank you very much.
