The satellite half is much better. I've got it right over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue right now.

If you don't know where that is, I'm sorry.

I'm now reminded of Heinlein's Friday, where corporations have taken over the Earth. Or, The Cat who Walks Through Walls.

Just wait 'til we get wmd.google.com.

The detail on this is incredible. Lets hope they expand their list of mapped cities (I can find myself alright, just in general.)

I found my house, but I am out in the woods.

Maybe its mapped because I am in the bay area?

How do you get the photos? Just zoom in to the max?

EDIT: Just figured it out with my mad l337 computer skillz.

Okay, here's the capital of the universe:

The larger building in the center is my puny high school. (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=01833&ll=42.724081,-70.986410&spn=0.005440,0.007918&t=k&hl=en)

I prefer world wind, you get just as much, if not more, detail of N.America. Wish they'd put as much detail into the UK world wind images.

Sheridan College

My house was right on the boundary between where they have a good, clear picture, and where its all blurry 'n ****. So, here's the next best thing.

Well, on the downloadable version i found a car parked illegaly across two parking spaces in the parking lot above the white building in the middle http://maps.google.com/maps?q=01833&ll=38.901558,-77.017035&spn=0.007564,0.010643&t=k&hl=en

In relation ot whitehouse (near bottom, blurred out)
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=01833&ll=38.895228,-77.011993&spn=0.015128,0.021286&t=k&hl=en

Whitehouse in reelation to big river
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=01833&ll=38.869114,-77.021456&spn=0.060511,0.085144&t=k&hl=en

If you cant find that far i'm not posting anymore shots, the river is the one that looks all segmented when you zoom in.

and my house...
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=01833&ll=49.350747,-123.135034&spn=0.007317,0.010643&t=k&hl=en

See near the middle of trhe picture, the little white square is a tent i had in my back yard until a heavy rainfall bent the big steel supports holding it up (rain and cloth are strong forces)

And my house its the one in wich the square is in the backyard.

Edit: you may wanna zoom in a step on theese, for some reasong google maps zoomso ut when copying the link.
