Either the BIG CHEESE in the sky or Mother Nature seems to have an issue with that general area. What next, the Earth gobbling upthe entire peninsula?

Reportedly that entire tectonic plate is moving and rubbing against the other; hence the tsunami earthquake and now this one.

IIRC there was no tsunami as it was both in deeper water, and I think moved downwards (or not...either way the plate movement was such that it didn't displace water as the tsunami one did; I think that one caused the seabed to rise).
