I'm trying to draw more on my computer these times to add some style to my drawings. This one is all-made by computer with GIMP. It's cartoon-style, not intended to be very realistic. The only problem is that after colouring the whole thing and adding a color effect, the top left spotlight became darkblue. I decided to keep it like this. The white spot was too big anyway. Oh the charater shown in this pic is from a story I made. Unfortunately, it's not finished and written in french. since my english "skills" are not very advanced, I decided to wait before translating it.

Not bad, but just a suggestion: learn to draw with your hands, then do it on the computer :) You get better experience and know-how that way. You can color on the comp, but you should always learn to draw/paint/whatever by hand first, in my opinion, anyway :)
But anyway, my biggest problem is the neck, or the lack of one, and his wings. The wings are a bit too small, imho, and his head looks like it's melded in with his chest (I know his coat collar is turned up, but there should be a definate space between the very back bottom of his head and the collar)

the face looks really wierd.

Gosh I didnt realized for the neck...
Well it seems I got a lot of work to do again! No problem I like it! I'm just wondering if it gets any better...
I do draw by hand, but how can I modify it by computer after drawing it? I mean I don't know the procedure.. I must do the sketch and re-draw with ink or something?
-
Once your finished with a sketch, scan it in and then make a new layer.
On this new layer (which should be above the other one) trace over the sketch image, fixing up spots where need be.
Ink colour, or whatever from there.
Keep at it! :)

not bad, i think your concepts and all are really cool but just you need to do lots of boring practice work with your techniques. in other words, do more stuff!
somehow, i feel that that picture needs less outline and more faded edges. but that's a personal thing...

I continue drawing and practicing almost every day. But I must admit I find it very difficult to find my motivation. I know I must work hard but I wonder if I will be able to do great work someday.

don't give up. if you really love it, it's worth it, even if you don't feel like it sometimes. we all gotta start somewhere, and from what i've seen, you're already a far way beyond that starting point. the end may not be in sight, but hey, that depends where you want to stop, doesn't it? as for me, i'd prefer a finish line over the horizon. hope you do too. stick at it, mate.
