When I first put FS2Open on my new pc, which is a very good thing ;)
I must say that FS2Open is and always will be the best thing that has ever happened to FS2..
My wife finally bought me my gaming pc, the first thing that had to go was the on board vid, (which really sucked) for frame rates.. Even the explosions would choke it down to 9fps, but that problem has been resolved. system specs below

P 4  2.8Ghz with hyperthreading tech.
800mhz bus speed
512mb PC3200 DDR SDRAM

As for the video I went with
GeForce FX 5500 factory overclocked to 290mhz
256mb DDR

Am having a merry time now, i`ll give thanks to my wife for the new pc and all the members of the sorce code project, for making this happen...

It still knocks the breath out of me to see that people can be motivated to this level of quality by more than simply money. This place sort of restores my faith in that respect :D

No problem, I didn`t take it to heart RedAssAg05. :D

I got to say though, the effects are better than I had expected on this pc..  
 I`m thinking of upgrading the 512mb ram to 1gig, but haven`t really seen the need to, as of yet.. Maybe in a year or two when the demand for ram is required, but for now I guess i`ll leave it as it is. :)

(edit) The SCP crew rules FS2, just thought i`d say that and mean it. :nod:
