because it lets me play Final Fanasy 3(6), Secret of Evermore, and Chrono Trigger. Now discuss the awesomeness of Super Nintendo and Squaresoft RPGs.
-
ZSNES > Snes9x.
Discuss.
-
I think I'll have to agree with redsnippy.
or squid.
both emulators are good. dreamsnes for dreamcast is based on snes9x though, and that's the one I'm using. or at least, used the last time I was in snes mood. speaking of that, it's too bad saving doesn't work on bleemcast - playing psx rpg's using it is kind of pointless because of that...
-
I'm not trying to start an emulator debate. I'm just praising the SNES, it's games, and any program that emulates them. :thepimp:
-
I still want an N64 emulator and an OoT rom.
And yes, I have them both somewhere, but damned if I can find them, so I wanna emulator! y0!

My (former) friend hated that game. :p
-
I liked SM:RPG, Secret of Mana 1&2 (Saiken Densestu 3), E.V.O, Chrono Trigger ... maybe some others.
Oh yeah, and Earthbound
And I want a Dreamcast emulator so I can play Shenmue...
-
You know, I got a directory full of good old snes games. The FFs, CT, super metroid, super punch out, evo, Gun Hazard, all my old faves. But whenever I go to play any of them, I get bored and end up playing tetris attack.
-
I found OoT! Joy!!!!!!!!
-
Chrono Trigger = ass-kicking. Enjoy it, and watch your life be sucked away before your eyes as you try and level-up Crono's Luminaire technique. ;)

Starfox!

Where?!
Er, PM me, of course.....

The SNES still has one of the only interesting open-ended console RPGs... Romancing Saga 3 (by Squaresoft).
It also had some very cool turn based tactical games. Tactics Ogre, Der Langrisser, Bahamut Lagoon, Front Mission, Fire Emblem, so on.
-
i've got only one SNES emulator game: starfox. and i even beat it on expert. :D
also have a sega genesis emulator with some kickass games on disc.

Final Fantasy 3 = better story, character development, and music than most modern games. And I'm not even half-way done with it yet. :D
-
Raa whered you find that? PM please

Never heard of it... :nervous:
I recall that Dolphin game though. On SEGA megadrive.
Echo the Dolphin.
I remember being amazed by the graphics in that game. Damn it was hard too. Bloody thing.

it WAS hard. i've only been able to make it to Level 2...
and it's Ecco the Dolphin. :p

*TimeWarp -below Cobra's post*
Lol ok. :p
By the way, a huge lightbulb just flickered to life in my head.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time?
That was a kick arse game.
-
Oh man.. Ecco.... I wasted half a lifetime trying to complete that game. Had to do it on genecyst because that end boss alwas smegging got me!
When they released a sequel I nearly had a nervous breakdown!
I remember when they reviewed it on the (now defunct) Gamesmaster program...!
But the SNES... man... completed Rocket Knight Adventures on that recently.
ChronoTrigger is a must-play game; I swear it's the best RPG SquareSoft ever made!
One thing that I hate about most SquareSoft games is the invisible random-encounter thing - I love exploring new areas, but it's very hard to do when a £*%&$& random encounter keeps popping up every 5 seconds! In CT you could SEE where the encounters were! Joy! :D
But the whole game just rocked, totally.
On the Megadrive... gotta be Sonic and Streets of Rage for me ;)
And NHL Hockey, because I loved smashing my brother's face into the wall and stealing the puck. And then smashing his face in *with* the puck :D
Ahh, memories ;)
-
heh, i can post my sega genesis emulator for you guys if you want. it's got all 3 streets of rages, most of te sonic games, Rocket Knight 1, Ecco, and some other great classics. (including Gunstar Heroes. :D)
-
I was never able to beat the ecco games, there would always be a level that didn't have a way to win, in the first one there was a level with strong currents I think that I could never get past, but ecco 2 it was that level when you return from the future after finding the asterite there were orcas and you save a bunch of orca pups and you'd think that she'd help you in some way get past the barier blocking the exit to the level but she never did. I always liked that game, something about a time traveling super dolphin wageing and interstelar war against an all powerful alien menace just seemed so origonal.
Rocket Knight adventures was a great game that I thought I was the only one to have ever played, something about the blending of opossums, midevil syle, and laserguns and rockets and giant hovering airships and massive orbital weapons platforms... also very origonal.
but I was alsways a sega fanboy, nintendo lost me after the nes ended its tyranical reign. I should try out the origonal starfox, I never played the origonal (did play SF64 though, very good other than the charicters being animals, but I still found them more or less ok, exept that for that dumbass frog).
-
'should dust off my SNES and have a blast on Super Probotector.
-
you still have an SNES? wow.
-
I still have a genesis+sega cd+32x (:ha:)
the only thing wrong with it is I lost some of the power cords
-
heh.
i was gonna post the sega genesis emulator i have, but the entire set is 20 megs... time to make separate packs...
-
I still have my NES, gameboy(s), Genesis, nomad, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, and XBox. :p I never throuw them out.
-
Donkey Kong Country 2. One of the best games ever made. :D
-
In ZSNES I get a funky error in Donkey Kong Country 2, where I get to some level in a mine shaft type thing, and you're trying to make your way up to the top... anyway, there's a box with Squawks the parrot in it and he's supposed to help carry you up the rest of the way up.. well for some reason I can't for the life of me get the box open no matter what I do! I jump on it, throw barrels at it, throw Dixie at it.. nothing works, and it baffles me so. Sadly, I can't further my progress in the game because of this. :(
Anyway, I have a question... I would absolutely love to play Sonic CD as I played it a loooooong time ago with my brother.. ah the memories.. anyway, it's the only Sonic game I don't have (I got the collection thing for GCN, but it doesn't have S:CD).. anyway, I suppose if anyone knows if it's possible (is there even Sega CD emulators?) and.. *ahem*.. how I might play it again, responses or PMs are welcome. :nervous: :)
-
uh, i have a sega genesis emulator waiting to be posted. (damn you admins, i can't attach it and geocities won't take rar's. ) it's got all the sonics except CD and 3D blast. damn.
-
3d blast you can keep, but sonic CD was the nit^shiz right there, too bad it needs a 40 meg ISO (IIRC) has some damn good music in it too, far superior the the **** there putting in the current line of Sonic games, but then again it's in keeping with the quality of the current games anyway so I guess that shouldn't be suprizeing. (everything after S&K sucked like the vacume of space:()
would anyone be interested in new sonic 2 levels? I know were you can get some :)
-
If you're strong,
You can fly,
You can reach the other side
Of the rainbow,
It's alright
Take a chance
'Cause there is no circumstance
That you can't handle...
:D
-
well, I was refering more to the in game music.

I think delta is probly the best, though it helps to have a level select save state (kega format) to get the most out of any of these. and just because I'm such a nice guy, I'll zip one up for you with such a save state.
delta has a number of levels added to it that were made from a handfull of partaly completed levels found in a sonic 2 beta that was discovered in a chinees rom shop, if you have any interest in the developments of sonic 2 do some googleage on the sonic 2 beta, they found some realy neat stuff.
meh, zip was too big with the save state, it's the same code as the origonal game.
-
I like Ecco a lot, and it also had awesome graphics and sound for the time. But on the downside, it was HARD! the only game I have played that was harder than Ecco was The Immortal, which was basically impossible to complete by normal humans....:shaking:
