Yeah (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=1756&e=1&u=/050418/ids_photos_ts/r505517448.jpg)
Well, I'm happy that the people there have a new place to pray...
I for one would choose the church.
-
............
-
Oh mighty conglomeration of pertrol fumes without whom we would be naught......
-
At Least they ain't preying to the Sandwitch.

This has always confused me anyway, I thought the First Commandment strictly forbade this, the Christian Cross even Jesus, though, I suspect that would be a special case scenario. Much as Islam forbids the use of symbolism (hence the crescent and star flag used to symbolise Islam is not actually legal under Islamic Law) the same goes for graven images in Judaism/Christianity?

I know there are some people (hardcore baptists, I [think)that think that; and indeed extend it to 'worship' of the Pope in the Roman Catholic church.
Although.... you'd have to be pretty desperate to worship that; it's like praying to a Rorschach ink blob.
-
LOL it is more than a wee bit obscure.
So Christianity is like the Roman Religions then, simply picking and choosing the parts that suit it at the time and not applying what isn't even if it was the first rule given to Moses by God on Mt Sinai?
Edit : Not accusing here, there isn't a religion in history that hasn't, but strikes me as odd, the Cross has certainly struck me as a perfect example of what God didn't want people worshipping, a situation where the symbol becomes more important than what it represents.
-
Those people need to get a life.
And on a more diplomatic note, taking such specimens as representative of Christianity is like taking DS as the representative of the FS community.
-
Gullibilty knows no limits...
-
The toast was more convincing.
-
anyone in chicago willing to go down there and spray pentagrams all over the wall?
-
PhReAk, you're evil.

All religions tend to be 'corrupted' by at least some of their followers, I think. It's arguably human nature to simplify things by symbolising them....

Oh, hey, look at this! I can see Serious Sandwich in this totally natural comglomeration of letters, numbers, and symbols! Oooohh!!!

Looks like half of Spacedock ;)
-
Serious Overcompensation with that gun, sarny. :p
-
Is it just me or does the virgin mary look like a guy who needs sleep?
-
[color=66ff00]*Looks at Sandwich's post...*
I call for recognition of this thread where our lord Jesus first appeared playing a Bass guitar.
Henceforth all rock music will be a holy interpretation of his words.

-

[color=66ff00]I'm well aware of what it is, I'm trying to point out that with a bit of imagination...
note to self, try to be more simple funnay. ;)

-
Sometimes I really wish more people understood my jokes....
But then I'd probably be in trouble a lot more often in here if they did ;)
-
-
Congrats Raa, you broke my browser :p
-
Damn, that animation kills my browser, it refuses to scroll beyond it :(
-
lol! I have no idea what's up. I can't edit the post to get rid of the animation!
FF, and IE both stop the page at the end of the iframe! :D
-
Raa! Nuker of Threads!
-
What the hell did you do to the bottom of the thread?
-
You ****wit you broke the tables!
-
Dammit, I still can't scroll beyond that bloody animation :(
-
All I did was
-
FIND THE EDIT LINK IN THE SOURCE CODE (WHICH UR NOW LOOKING AT I HOPE) AND USE THAT.
You didn't close the frigging iframe tag!
-
fixed it but gave u my siggy... lmfao
-
You also lost the 5 posts in between. :p
-
Yay for standards compliance!
or not :nervous:
-
lol. I had to type in every post id after the first iframe to find them both :p
Happy, now? Vyper? :p
-
LOL What makes me laugh is the fact that not only did we manage to have a legible conversation without being able to see each others responses, but the fact we carried on posting responses even though we couldn't read them ;)
-
You can read the responses by hitting post reply. ;)
But then, we're all mind readers anyway. :p
-
****in hell I didn't think of that I just viewed the source the replied... erm... anyway, yes, well fixed now Raa. :)
-
I think the toast was more realistic.
-
so when did the admins turn HTML back on?
-
When you weren't looking.
-
Works fine here. Quite intriguing, too.
-
I see Elvis
-
What episode was that from?
It looks like it's Daniel.
-
Not only does that freeway underpass salt stain not look like Mary, it doesn't even look like a person.
