Video is awsome.
I for one am greatly anticipating this game.
Although it does veer away from realism and historical correctness completely, I still think its going to be a kick arse game. :D

Let's talk again when they announce it for PC.

Hehe, its a console only one.
Mind its not a strategy game like Rome. Hence the "Total Warrior".
So its probably going to be a better version of Dynasty Warriors or Kingdoms Under Fire.
btw, get an Xbox! :p (or wait for XB2:))

I'll stick with PC's.

Well having just watched the trailer. I have to say this looks completely and utterly bonkers. Clearly something the Total War guys came up with during a late night dope smoking session. It's be interesting to see how this one pans out. Does this game want to be a hack and slash game or a Total War battle strategy game? Might end up falling between two stalls.

It looks like they decided it'd be fun to be one of the wee blokes you send into be slaught...er, into battle in Rome:TW and ran with it.
Could be ace. Looks nuts (flamethrower! fat spikey bloke! hammer!).

A first person Total War game for the brainless amongst us. Yay.

Hoplites with Flamethrowers... I wish I could command a unit of those in R:TW ;)

1. It has Spartans in it, what more can you want!? :p
2. They said its not supposed to be a hack and slash game. More of an action / adventure / strategy game.
3. Its made by a new group of guys within Creative Assembly, presumedly the Total War guys are still working on the next PC strategy fest installment.
4. Spartans!!!111 :p
It is a slight dissapointment that they veered from near historically correct to try outright myth and possible new concepts. But even when I first heard about the Total Warrior game in development, I could not help but think it would get boring after you kill your 10,000th Gaul.
I think that mythological monsters and magical powers can rightly entertain me for much longer. Presuming they pull it off well enough.
Read the review before you criticisize it too harshly. :)
For some, it won't be they're thing. For others (like myself) this looks very promising. :D

The Spartans were ogres. The Athenians were the best.
-
If the next game isn't Fantasy:Total War, I shall be most dissapointed ;)
-
Odd. I was talking to Anaz a while back about ways in which a medieval / classical / Roman era action could work. Turns out, it didn't really. Not in the epic battle sense.
If they can pull it off, I'll be suprised.

I've always loved the idea of the Spartan hopilites, and obvcourse the battle of Thermopoly story.
I think the reason they went for the mythological beasts and powers side of things, is because in reality a realistic version wouldn't of worked very well. Just hack and slash for several hours until all are dead.
I much like the idea of an action / adventure game, as a Spartan Hopilite. Much goodness. :D
