FS2 Voice Patch (http://www.geocities.com/dickerson_dj/fs2voicepatch.zip)
It removes the scratch noise and replaces it with another sound. :)
someone sticky this...
-
And you packed this in a .exe why ?
-
i didn't make it, dude. someone gave it to me. i just thought i'd share it with everyone. besides, the VP is too big for my site to host.
-
what 'scratch noise'? And what was wrong with a 'scratch noise' in the first place?
-
the 'scratch noise' sounds like a HUGE, high pitched burst of static that hurts your ears.
-
Err. it's supposed to be the radio. Ever listen on a CB radio? Scratch - message - scratch...
-
yeah. only it replaces the first scratch with the beep-beep you hear when someone messages in-mission.
-
I think its a good idea..
-
I play with the sound down, and my MP3 player up, so I have no idea what your problems are :p
-
well, you won't have to use the MP3 player then. :p
-
WHy? This'll replace the in game music with music from my MP3 folder?
-
What scratching noise? Have you gone insane, Cobra? You mean the "kkkrrt" sound as your wingmen end a transmission? That sound is neither loud, nor scratchy.
Ohhh, nice spin, Raa:
WHy? This'll replace the in game music with music from my MP3 folder?

Not to shoot you down or anything, but why not cut and crop one of the bleeps off of one of the existing files in the stu.VP, add it to your own file, then do the same thing with the static noise at the end of the file? Since this ties into the original freespace story, it'd seem kinda odd if all the ship's communicators made wildly different noises than before -- Or is this not ok according to copyrights? (being dead serious here....)
Another thing to consider, I was listening to the "personas" last night from FS1. They tacked on the bleep and static after each voice file, so each file consists of *bleep* message *static*. FS2's files were just pure voice, with no bleeps or static. I think either they didnt exist, or they use seperate files for bleeps and static.
-
let me find the sound i'm talking about.
-
damn, it's not in the VPs... and i looked thru a clean installation. :wtf:
-
Is this the noise you hear when you're playing a multiplayer game? If so it'd make sense, cuz it is a bit annoying but... having a program go through the vp for you? I'd just go into the VP and put my own noise there.
-
I'd rather not screw with my retail VPs.
-
^^
Yeah that MP noise when one usese voice. When fs2 music and sound is loud.. ears die.. badly..
i remember if from teh dam pxo dayz..
suzy, and other *******s (seperating them into 2 diff grups, caz suzy is fine) who spam the ` button every other second to kill players to get kills..:doubt:
-
yea, the multiplayer noise truly hurts your ears..... made me play without sound for some time.
-
Well, I don't use multiplay anyway, but either way, please don't provide things as .exe files. I always feel a bit funny about them. Even when you are simpy intending to help, things can sneak in without your knowledge.
It HAS happened before, even to members of this board. Best bet is just to zip up the files ;)
Anyway, just advice ;)
