I've recently aquired a HP Pavilion f1723 TFT monitor which is rated at 1280x1024 60hz as the recommended resolution/refresh rate.
I'm fine with the resolution but I'd like to force a 70hz refresh rate as I find this is much easier on the eyes.
My question is - will this drastically damage the monitor? Is it possible at all? I've no experience with TFT screens and that's why I'm worried about the possible damage.
Cheers guys!

TFT monitors don't "refresh", they change the pixels that need changing. A faster refresh rate won't do anything.
That said, you should be able to force from the advanced tab of you're screen properties.

Well, I've tried changing the refresh rate to 70hz by forcing it and it does seem a bit more responsive. I guess I'll just leave it as it is now.
Good point regarding the fact that don't refresh though :)

I suspect that "refresh rate" = rate that new data is sent.

It supports a maximum refresh rate of 76hz. Higher refresh rates may have an effect, though, as some tfts have a better overall picture quality/sharpness on specific refresh rates, depending on the panel used and the graphics card. Just try 60/70/72/75, whatever your graphics driver supports.
