Well, it looks like things are getting off the ground between me and a girl I go to church with, and I need some suggestions for something.
What I was planning on doing was making a CD with some soft/emotional/romantic songs for her, but there's one major problem with it so far: I don't usually listen to soft/emotional/romantic music. The only thing with "love" in the title would be "You Give Love a Bad Name", so, of course, I'm in a little trouble here...
...so yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Grab a few samples of Coldplay albums. Lots of soft romantic songs, and they're really good too. Also listen to Smashing Pumpkins; The songs Luna, Mayonnaise, and Rhino come to mind, although not directly romantic or soft, but certainly emotional. I can't give you much more than that, but it is a good compromise between romance and music you can listen to without loathing.

Let me put my love into you babe by AC/DC!! Oh wait, no.
Hmm... Stairway to Heaven might work. If you're looking for non-lyrical music, I'm not much help there.. the only non-lyrical stuff I listen to isn't really 'romantic,' per se, but look up something called Lifescapes. In particular, Scottish Moors.

A couple songs off the Garden State Soundtrack would work quite nicely.

Perhaps something like this ("http://www.lyricsdomain.com/1/acdc/big_balls.html") would be appropriate?
-
BJ - Always (could be a bit heavy!)
BJ - You had me from hello
Matthew Goodband - any of 'em
Lifehouse - again, anything
-
anything by Musiq and John Legend
-
Define her tastes. Love songs run from Louie Armstrong to Isaac Hayes to Def Lepard to Journey to Type O negative to Blue Oyster Cult.
-
gwar-hate love songs :D
-
Marillion, Misplaced Childhood. The entire album, and you're set. ;)
On the other hand, you may want to play some music she actually likes. If I'd put on romantic stuff, my gf would have run away screaming...;) Just in case.

You can't go wrong with this song:
Let my lips Embrace you. (www.3dactionplanet.com/hlp/hosted/tap/grug/lovesong.zip)

Dream Theater, Nightwish, Rush, Fates Warning, Deicide.

Offhand;
Lots of stuff by Aberfeldy (Love is an Arrow, Slow Me Down, Vegetarian Resteraunt)
Geneva (If you have to go)
Belle & Sebastian (My Wandering Days are over),
Coldplay (as mentioned before; non album tracks as well, like For You, Ladder to the Sun, Moses)
Cosmic Rough Riders (For a Smile, Now that you know)
definately lots of Damien Rice (Cannonball, Cold Water, Volcano)
Embrace (Gravity - also maybe the original Coldplay version of that , I wouldn't wanna happen to you, Drawn From Memory)
Idlewild (Blame it on obvious ways, Love Steals Us From Loneliness)
Keane (somewhere only we know)
The Reindeer Section (You are My Joy, Grand Parade, I'll be here when you wake, Cartwheels, Cold Water - not the same as the Damien Rice song)
The Seahorses (You can talk to me, and Love is the Law for the sheer cheek of some of the lines....)
Snow Patrol (Batten down the hatch, Chocolate, Make Love to me Forever - maybe a bit upfront? :D, Velocity Girl)
Travis (Only Molly Knows, Flowers in the Window, Love will come through, Walking in the Sun)
Um... that's all I can think of without breaking out the CD collection.

Bryan Adams - Everything I Do. It works.

Now, I'm not the authority on romance.....
But am I the only one who believes the entire idea is.....corny? :doubt:

Listen to my song damnit! :p
