How the hell is that possible? Does the car have afterburners or something?

Maybe someone was pissed off that the whole JATO/truck thing was an urban myth :D

Ah. I see I'm not the only one who thinks that when you go to a showroom to buy one they insert a hose and suck out half your brain.

I've noticed that 9 times out of 10 when someone roars up behind me and flashes their lights, beeps their horn or drives far too close in order to get past it's a BMW driver.
I wouldn't mind so much if I drove slowly but I'm generally driving at 20mph over the speed limit myself anyway so why on Earth they can't wait 20 seconds for me to shoot past whatever I'm overtaking and let them past safely is beyond me.

when that sort of thing happens, I generaly go the exact same speed as the car next to me.

unless I heppen to know that there is a cop near by, in wich case I let them pass then follow them at a distance of about 500 feet and watch the fun.

I'm worse. I go at about 1mph faster. That way I'm still overtaking and they can't complain that what I'm doing isn't allowed.

As long as I'm overtaking the car next to me I can do so at whatever speed I see fit. It's only courtesy that means I have to move out of the way for faster drivers and lets face it, if he's not being nice to me why should I be nice to him :D

Aye. Some daft bastard in a BMW cut me up today, about 3-400 yards from a roundabout.... ****ing pain in the arse.  Fair enuff; I'm a learner.  There's a bit L plate on the back, so it'd be easy enough to assume I'll be slow, etc.  But not when I'm driving in a straight line on-or-just-over the speed limit, and not when I'm just about to reach somewhere where you have to give way anyways.

It strikes me that there are about 4 main types of numpty on the road; BMW drivers, people in clapped out hatchbacks (yet with fake double exhausts and big hi-fi stickers), white van drivers and taxi drivers.

What's wrong with white van drivers?

And the chav/ned mobile thing is quite common over here too....

On the German Autobahn, it's the BMW's doing 200+ (KPH), flashing their lights, and pushing other traffic. The Ferarris and stuff drive fast, but wait for other traffic....

They have a habit of being inconsiderate (to other road users) bastards; cutting in front, not giving way at give way signs, etc.

It seems to be primarily white (er, as in paint, not ethnicity) van drivers for some reason; I don't know why.....

I wonder how that was possible.  Did it use the tree as a ramp, or something?

I wish you Brits would speak English. I can't understand half of what you write. :p

Just be glad you've not got accents to worry about, sunnyjimmabob.

I can testify to that... on a road trip from the south coast (my home town) up to Newcastle... we had to stop and ask for directions when we got there. The taxi driver we spoke to spoke in English we could barely identify as words!
