Post by: IceFire on July 03, 2001, 10:52:00 pm: Actually, G'Quan's are classed as Heavy Cruisers and are about 1400 meters long. The Centauri Primus is nearly 2000 meters long and classed as a battlecruiser. The Primus is a more substantial warship and has more reactor capacity. The G'Quan does try to offset this (and the inherent weapon power advantage) with a more robust hull design and armor.

Post by: Jabu on July 04, 2001, 12:09:00 am: That's strange, the figure I have for the Primus' size is 876m (B5Tech says 1586m), and the Vorchan 360m.

If the Primus gets into the firing arcs of the G'Quan's main beams, it's toast no matter what guns it has. The Primus isn't a very good warship anyway, the Vorchan is newer and more advanced, even if it isn't in the same size class.

Remember that big battle between them and the shadows? Ok, they got there arse kicked but the coverged beams of two G'Quans disabled or at least hindered a shadow battle crab- a primus or practically anything else from the younger generations (not including the mindbari).
