hmm makes you think.. by being here were all "core" gamers according to this.. but at the same time "core" and "casual" gamers are a false dichtomy

Interesting stuff, I'd have to place myself somewhere in the middle, I like a challenge but I couldn't really sit out an uber hard game.
Anyway, it takes a really good game to hold my interest for more than a few goes. Halflife was the first truely awe inspiring game I'd ever played, the first one that I HAD to finish. I thought nothing was ever going to top Xwing and I bought FS2 out of sheer chance. Boy was I happy (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Fs came with my PC and I learned about FS2 from PXO, so... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)
I guess it was also luck that got me here... (yes, blame luck!)

Now I can understand how luck can be a bad thing... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I probably tend towards the hard end. Any game that I play I tend to devote myself to thoroughly and especially with RPG style games I want to do EVERYTHING all the sidequets, all the secret bits, everything, and I have a lot of patience in doing so. I don't mind games that are very challenging of difficult as long as its an issue of finding the right skill, approach, solution to the problem, rather than the somewhat cheesier way of making a game challenging by requiring the player to execute something with absolute precision, which can get really frustrating.

There's a little casual and core gamer in all of us (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
