I got that when I logged in to my Photobucket account. I wonder if it was a real thing...
-
notice how it says "Advertisement" on the top.
-
Yeah, true. Probably BS then. I should've called them. :p There was a phone number for each country (up to Bulgaria in the dropdown menu).

Bring-ring-ring-ring
*click*
"Welcome to the Super Celebratory Award Merchandise give away! If you have won a prize, press 1 now!"
*beep*
"You have won a prize! Please press 2, then 2, then 4, then 5, to continue to our claims department"
*beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*
"Welcome to the S.C.A.M. claims department! Please enter your 12 digit claim number here with the keypad"
*beep**beep**beep**beep**beep**beep**beep**beep**beep**beep**beep*
"You may have won a cruise! Please stay on the line, and the claims department will let you know if you have won a cruise, pen, box of tissues, novelty gold plastic alarm clock, or roll of carpet samples"
....10 minutes later....
"Please keep holding. You are number 1242043 in the queue!
This call is costs £1 per minute! But the prizes are great! Stay on the line!"

 On the second though, glad I didn't call.

I wonder if there's any legal way to get them to stop doing that. Could you sue them for breach of contract if they failed to send you the prize?
-
Depends on what the small print says.
-
could be one of those numbers taht you call and it charges you hella money per minute
-
It says advertisement so assume they will profit from it. I haven't clicked a banner ad in a long long long time. In the order of years.
-
Jeez, I didn't know anyone was that dumb. I mean, c'mon.
-
I never click banner ads. This one didn't have any links. I think I had some 300 seconds, but when it dropped to zero, nothing happened.
I think sueing wouldn't work, as it does say it's an ad. No one is so stupid that would think for a second that it's real.
-
Umm, you've never heard of "truth in advertising"? It IS illegal for ads to lie.
-
You mean, 14 inches is not within my grasp?
Cruel, cruel world!

Could be. I have no idea how your social life is going.

Those ads didn't always say they were ads. Someone had to at least threaten with a lawsuit to make them do that.
-
Don't click on ad banners.
Unless, of course, you get to shoot bunnies/swat flies/kill Saddam/punch Bush, etc.
-
You know, a lot of very popular sites wouldn't be able to afford their bandwidth bills if people didn't occasionally click the banner ads.
So screw you.

You have xx seconds left
Why include such a thing? Unless in attempt to get you moving before your brain kicks in..
