I have an Interview at Raytheon!
I am looking for a business intership and they are interested. On a side note, anyone know any good internship companies?
-
Oh sweet merciful crap I just realised that's a US defence company... what are they thinking? :p (j/k)
-
Raytheon, the weapons guys? PATRIOT missles and all that?
If you get the job, you're going to have to hook me up with some long-range AA guns. You know, to keep the pigeons away.
-
Where are you taking the internship? They have a big presence in Huntsville.
-
They are a great opportunity. I know they are a defense company, but that is the opportunity. I would like to become project manager and not that pointy haired guy.

Yup. I don't really want the job though; firstly it's Oracle (which I'm not interested in), secondly the moneys pish (£17k; they told me £23k when they approached me, which is the only reason I applied), and thirdly I'm more interesting in Fujitsu and Amazon (the other 2 big companies I've applied to).
It's annoying as hell looking for work, because there aren't many interesting graduate jobs in Scotland (at least for me - I can't / don't want to work in a job that isn't interesting).

I am just a little worried that they think I have a degree in engineering. I switched majors in 2003. The email I recieved says I have to meet with their engineering staff. Unfortunatly, I have not been able to get ahold of the woman from HR that contacted me.

Ok. If you'd done Computer Science or similar it could have made sense (if engineering included their embedded systems design); but does sound like they goofed up a bit.

I have emailed the HR person. I have a desire to get into project management.
