hey guys i got a new idea for a game
it goes like this : ....
I got a few storylines and a totallly new way of game design/ plot thought of but please tell me what you think of it after you read them
A intelligence agent has not reported back for some time
and it is your job to go out there covertly ot find out if he is still alive and well and to see what went wrong (captured ,etc)
along the way you find clues and talk to contacts along the way
basically what im trying to do might seem on the impossible side
im tying to come up with the first FPS \ MMORPG game
a game where you shoot and blow up stuff [FPS] and do some roleplaying at the same time (talking to your contacts , moving along the map and finding clues) [RPG]
i was thinking about setting the enviroment in IRAN and the spy that has gone missing was supposedly lookin for weapons of mass destruction
or how about this:...
your a intel. agent in 2290 and your mission is to infiltrate a hostile alien stronghold and gather info about their fleet deployments and such
or how about this one : ...
you are a british agent sent to decode the coded "enigma" traffic that the nazi's use to commmunicate with eachother and \ or you have to rescue a few ppl from the front line
And this might be a little hard but i plan the storyline , regardless of which one gets chosen at the coding stage i plan the game to be a little like Deus Ex... you know a evolving storyline that is based on your actions... for instance you start a at point "A" but there are several different ways(branches) to get to point "b"
So , the game will have some massive replay value because in most cases you wont be playing the same setting in the game twice....cool eh?
well...
what do you guys think?
i havent totally decided which story line to pick yet but it is just a idea me and kazan thought up in a brain-storming session
anyways this is still in the early development stage
And i could use your input guys
like tell me what you think of the different storylines and tell me what you think and your opinion on the "replay value " of the game...
and also if you can think of a better story line than of what i mentioned please feel free to add along
well that is basically it
ALL of your comments are welcome here guys .... feel free to comment about anything

I think the WWII one or the alien one would do well

Sort of like Splinter Cell, eh?
Sounds good. I like the alien one pretty nicely.

None of these are storylines. They are story "ideas", and from what I can undersand of your writing, nothing too interesting either. They all have possiblity, but right now there's nothing to distinguish them from the million other game ideas out there.
If you're serious about this, pick one idea, the one you like the best, and build everything in that little "world". What has happened up till now, what is about to happen, and how the player can have an effect on it. Since you don't describe anything about the actual gameplay, I'm going to assume that you're trying to have original storylines in existing technology.
Also, I'd work on communicating your ideas a little more clearly. Complete sentences, words, all those sorts of fun things that makes your ideas understandable.

If your going to go ahead and produce something like this the worst thing you can do is have your first product as an MMORPG. It takes twice as long to construct an MMORPG world/storyline/characters etc compaired to a normal game (For example a FPS)
You need to start small, the best being a RTS. That way you can create a nice backstory, characters and factions and there is plenty of game engines out their your can purchase the rights to use.
As one developer to another thats the best advice I can give you.
In a forum member and game player view, those story lines are good but not good enough to attract people to a MMORPG.

Sounds like it would be a great FPS if you ask me. The major problem i would see is it bing too short because most games use this as only a section of the storyline. IMO you should use this in part of a much larger storyline.

I agree with Anaz, these are really just templates for storylines.
