went to go buy a dvd burner and saw the doom 3 expansion on sale for $19. played the first two levels. its ok. same quality as the original. i remember the quake 2 expansion sets being alot beter than the original levels. but in this case its about equil. there are only 3 new weaps, a db shotgun (which should have been in the original), a portable tractor beam (which is kinda fun) and 'the artifact' which essentially is a time dialation defice that lets you slow down time and uses uman souls for ammo. it was a good buy sence eye candy and effects are the main reason i play games, and id has one hell of an art team.

Doom 3 ranks in my top 10 games, though I'm waiting for the price tag to drop on resurrection of evil before I buy it - simply because the campaign is half the size of Doom 3.

I'm waiting on the price to go down but they brough tback the double barrel which kicks a**. And those demons that jump out of the walls that look like displays are cool too.

I think 34 dollars for the expando pack is a little outrageous. I'm waiting for it to drop before I'll pick it up too. Since there's no real reason to pick it up, not even for any sort of new multiplayer modes ( I wanted Coop so bad for this game.. ) there's no reason to pick it up till it's in the 15 buck range.

Just borrow it from someone else and install, you don't need the disk in to play... Unless you play multiplayer (Ha!), then maybe buy it. :p
Which reminds me, I recently had a chance to play Punisher on Xbox by V.
What a riot, its fairly Rockstar style. I don't see much replayability in it, but damn is it grusome. No mercy in that game. :p

I´ve had the D3 sequel for weeks. Installed it, played five minutes, then uninstalled the whole thing. It´s pretty much more of the same.

You could always give it me? :D

i perfer id's single player games over their usual deathmach obsession. multiplayer fps games bore me, either i get butchered by the script kiddies or i end up with the noobs, in which games they get butchered. there seems to be not much in equil play. fps multiplayer tends to favor those with the most expensive connections equipment. im not a big fan of the tasteless behavior of most gamers online. id rather play chess with somone who speaks proper english and/or with a russian accent ::D

i miss Battle Chess.

So your executive opinion is that it's worth it? I'll let my diehard-Doom-3-fan friend know. Personally, I wonder why the future doesn't have guns that you can stick flashlights to. ;)

i wish it would let you use all the powertools you find laying around on people. i mean anything thats modeled and looks dagerous could be used as a weapon. wh not, it wouldnt take jack time to code in. i remember you could add a new gun into quake c in 15 minutes. why isnt this a default feature? a weapon that should be in every fps game but isnt, duct tape :D like in aliens when ripley duct taped the flame thrower to the pulse cannon and made a superweapon. :D
