LONDON - The U.S. military acknowledged Friday that a photo of ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in his underwear, which a British tabloid newspaper published on its front page, was real and said it was "aggressively" investigating how it could have been taken and by whom.
It´s official. The US troops are sexual perverts.
:wtf:
-
Most people in general are sexual perverts.
It's just the matter of suppression.
-
What did you expect of a sexually repressed society?
-
:wtf:
On several levels.
-
Yeah, but we have to agree that there´s something weird about them. They are always undressing and taking pictures of nude men. :wtf:
Maybe there are some gay GIs that think Saddam is a hot stud...
He must sleep with his arse against the wall, every night.
:p

you do realize that the army is mostly 20-something men, right?

Well, that's all we really have to work with at the moment. We're not really in the business of enterring villages in the night to kidnap the womenfolk and take dirty pictures.
Just getting a bunch of dumb-dumb's going about taking pictures of the prisoners.

Didn´t the US govt. just recently got murdalized by a damaging story? And just when arabs were starting to cool down, with Newsweek retracting the story and all, they go and release another bombshell!!
Saddam is still worshiped by many arabs, and this is bound to piss them off even more than what they already are...
The Sun newspaper said it obtained that and other photos from "U.S. military sources," adding it would publish more photos on Saturday.
Those sources, the Sun stated, said they were handing over the pictures “in the hope of dealing a body blow to the resistance in Iraq.”
Boy, those guys sure are a bunch of Einsteins...
:wtf:
EDIT to add this:
you do realize that the army is mostly 20-something men, right?
Being 20 doesn´t mean you are a perv. Having cases upon cases emerging of where soldiers engage in strange practices, that it does. But not only it´s bad that they are conducting such practices, it´s even worst that they seem to have a strange desire of telling the world about it.

...?
Ok... well... people are going to be offended, but I don't care; People in the military aren't exactly the brightest we have. Promotion in the military is usually from the bottom of the barrel, as well. As with all US politics.

Still, it´s pretty obvious even to the most inept of persons, that releasing such photos will only damage they cause, not help.
What possessed them to think iraqis would take those photos lightly? It´s not like they have before, is it?
The sheer ammount of screwups that have emerged from this govt. is enough to make people start considering that they actually want to screw up on purpose. I just can´t figure out why...

It's like those old sci-fi movies, where Ming the Merciless appears on a Televisor with Flash Gordon strapped to the Electroshock™ Table and saying 'I have your leader rebellious fools! Surrender or he will feel the wrath of Ming the Merciless! Mwahahahaha!'
Now, I don't see Saddam breaking loose with the help of nothing but a toothpick, overpowering the guards, stealing an old F4, escaping back to Iraq and victory, as Flash would, but the image remains.
I assume the Sun hasn't figured out the part of the insurgence which is being co-ordinated from outside Iraq (which is admittedly small, but significant) were actually being held in check by Saddam and that these pictures basically say 'He's gone guys! Come on in!' :)

That's the funniest thing I've seen all day. :p

I remember a rumour a while back that Rumsfeld had offered Saddam the chance to go into exile, if he stopped the loyalists from continuing their insurgency.
(noting, of course, that the insurgency is composed of several different groups rather than a single 'whole')

If people think that's newsworthy, they have too much free time on their hands.
-
what happens is photos like theese are taken for court use only, but then some greedy gi steals one and sends it to the tabloids for a finders fee. frankly i dont care about what kind of undies dictators wear.

Saddam to sue over prison photos (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4567341.stm)
Saddam vs the Sun; whoever wins, we lose.

[color=66ff00]Sadaam of course, at least there's some chance that there might be a glimmer of goodness in Saddam.
Lesser of two evils.

Who is worse, a deposed evil dictator, or a tabloid? Juries out on this one....
-
I think it's time for a new breed of reality TV. Who is the most evil man alive, Saddam Hussein or Rupert Murdoch? Find out tonight on Celebrity Boxing: Wanker Edition.
-
This is really quite shocking.. I mean, it's embarassing to be even associated with The Sun by living in the same country.
Whoever took the photo was probably not a sexual pervert! We all know who this man is, and if the oppertunity had arisen for any one of us to get a picture like this we'd probably do it, it's a story for the grandkids and so long as it's not released to any media etc, it's not harming Saddam either. Lets face it, the man may have done unspeakable things - but who the hell are we to laugh and publish shots of him in his underwear? How the heck does that make the Western world look? It certainly does't make us look like we have a moral high ground we can stand on. Heck, by doing this kind of thing we look like children - nothing more.
As for him sueing The Sun, I find that highly amusing and hope he suceeds. I may not like the man himself, but in this case he's in the right to sue over this matter.

Never thought I'd see the day I'd be hoping to see an evil, genocidal tyrant win a court case either. Strange times indeed.

[color=66ff00]I didn't know they had George in court. Hopefully they'll get him for all that **** he pulled in the middle east.
