I need help figuring out something. Would everyone please post the current resolution at wich you keep your desktop?
I need to see what the average is, for page purposes.
Thank you.

err. 1280x960 on the main screen, but I have two monitors, so it's really 2303 x 960 :nervous:
-
1280x1024. The only way to fly.

But the browser only opens in one, right? That´s what i want. I want to know what people´s average resolution is, to size the template acordingly.
I see someone posted "higher" than 1280x1024. It would be interesting to know what size monitor are you using for that. The fonts must be like little ant footprints...
:p
-
The browser fills the 1280 x 960 one...
(which BTW, seems to be the proper resolution, and not a square like Kalithundra's resolution)
-
1280x1024 - The max my monitor allows.
-
1280x960 is indeed the proper 4:3 Ratio, but I find that on most 19" monitors things are actually more square at a 5:4 ratio (1280x1024). At any rate, it's the width that's important here, not the height, so use that accordingly. However, as long as the window expands to fill the space, I would actually strongly encourage considering 1024 to be the minimum supported width. That way, if I have a bookmarks bar or something open, it won't force part of the page off my screen.

1600*1200 (19" monitor)

Ok, to help things out, tell me how you guys see this page with your resolutions. Is it well framed, does look off, how is it?
Allow the popup to load, otherwise the page won´t load. Yeah, I know, Geocities sucks oranges, but it´s all i have for now.

I think you should centre it, and rather than have it be so large vertically, use a scrolling IFRAME for the content.

If you can, trim a few pixels off each side. The Geocities thing sucks up a good number of pixels even in its minimized state. Which means you have a nasty but useless scrollbar on the bottom of the page at 1024x768.
You do have to identify your audience which means that catering to the 1024x768 and up crowd is probably ok for gamers...if you have a wider audience, your minimum should be set at 800x600 (Windows XP default).

I run at the sexy 1024x768 setting :D
-
1152x864
-
1024x768, on a 19" monitor. I don't understand how people can go up to 1600x1200 at that size; to me, everything looks like size 6 font if I do. :p
-
1024*768, which is the god-given standard.
at least until I get the money to upgrade monitor (and computer for that matter), which could very well be this fall. yay for having a job this summer :) or I'll just get a powerbook...
-
1600x1200x75 21" inch screen dual channel 13W3 connector and VGA.
I love my monitor.
-
1024x768 with 85hz refresh. My monitor does support 1280x1024, but then I am limited to 60hz refresh rate, which kills my eyes, and makes them bleed.
-
1280*800 on my laptop, 1152*864 on my desktop.
-
1024*768 on this computer, 1280*1024 on the other.
-
Viewing at the voluptuous resolution of 1280 x 800. Mmmmmmmm...just look at all those pixels.
-
My eyes are too old to see anything past 1024 x 768...

What he said.
I run at 1024x768 on my laptop which is what I use the most. The family desktop runs at a larger resolution, can't remember what though.
-
i always run my monitor at its native resolution. in this case 1280*1024
-
My monitor only supports a maximum of 1024 x 768, sadly...
-
1280*1024, and god bless 17" tft screen :D
-
Well, seems the majority use 1024x768, as i suspected. So that´s the resolution i+ll be cattering for. Since we can´t keep everybody happy, we have to try to piss the less ammount of people off as possible.
I thank every one who bothered to vote and post.
-
1024x768 here, like in 21 others' case.
-
1024x768 here too.
-
1024x768
That is my laptop's max and I don't want it any higher. If it was, I would need a magnifying glass to read anything off of it.
