Title: how do I get the best looking freespace 2?

What are the things that I need to install to get the absolute best looking freespace 2 out there? (I have a 6800 ultra, so slowdowns are no worry) and where can I download them? The stuff in the media VP's doesent look as good as some of the shots I've seen in this forum, I've downloaded some stuff like the shineLT pack, but It doesent seem to be showing up.

Are the Media VPs in your main freespace2 folder?  Do You Have any other mods installed?

Have you set any features on in the Launcher?

Simplified:
Do the Shivan ships look very Dark, with little to no red bits on them?
