I recently convinced my parents to purchase FS2 on Ebay for my birthday (June 8th) and I was wondering how well freespace 2 runs on Windows XP?
-
It runs fine.
-
You need to run in '98 compatibility mode' or something, I think.
-
ok, thanks. 'cause I have the HoTU version right now, and I wan't the real FS2.
I've also had problems with WinXP with BZ1 and "B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty Eigth" but I couldn't fix those, so I wanted to know if I should try and sell my comp on Ebay for a Win98. But if it works fine than Hurray I can keep it!

i can run BZ1 fine on XP. You need some patches from the activision website and have to do some fiddling around in an ini file. You also need Win98 Compatibility for it as well.
-
when I went to the activision website BZ wasn't on it?
can you tell me what the website is? the one I went to didn't even have BZ listed anywhere :(
Win98 compatibility? the same thing that's already with WinXP or something else?
Please help, im desperate.
oh, BTW thanks for helping with the other stuff.
