It was a good break, and the new camera worked out well:

So that's what a real beam cannon looks like.

a red white and blue scarf? :wtf:
-
Loch Ness is the famous one, but I always thought Loch Lomond was a much nicer place, probably because theres a lot less people around :)
-
Yeah, I like to get away from people, so the more obscure lochs are great ;)
-
I really want to go to Scotland one day... a few friends of mine went last summer to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh and had the time of their lives.

Anyone going to Scotland has to visit Glen Coe. One of the most spectacularly creepy places I've ever been. There was a big massacre there about 400(?) years ago, and you can almost taste the gloom. It's this valley with very steep sides, and the rocks are almost black. I was there when it was misty and raining (a common event in Scotland :D), and I found it rather unsettling to say the least.
Scotland is a lovely place, though. The people are very friendly, and the scenery is breathtaking. There are also lots of fortresses, castles and battlefields to visit for the more historically-minded. Also visit Skye and the Western Isles for some crazy views and even crazier accents (the stereotyped Glaswegian accent has nothing on the West Highland one). Great country. :)
Also, Snowdonia is well worth a visit if you're holidaying in the UK. Another great place to fall off a thousand-foot cliff... ;)
